Opened in 1928, the lavish Ohio Theatre was built to be a movie house, complete with an extravagant theatre organ to provide the soundtrack of the day's silent films. On July 20 and 21, the Ohio returns to its roots with the CAPA Summer Movie Series presentation of silent film The Freshman starring Harold Lloyd.

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) is proud to present 'A Night At The Copa Starring Donny Most' on Sunday, May 7 at 7 p.m. Donny Most and his big blazing band perform the music of Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin along with the great American standards that have a jazz feel, such as songs from Dean Martin and Nat King Cole. Donny Most also mixes in lively tunes from the '30s, '40s and the Louis Prima jump 'n' jive genre. 

For one night only, Frank Ferrante will perform his acclaimed portrayal of legendary comedian Groucho Marx in An Evening With Groucho at Walnut Street Theatre. The performance that Variety called "a Tour de Force" will happen on the Mainstage on Monday, February 27. Ferrante is also performing in Laughter on the 23rd Floor at the Walnut, now through March 5.

Theater District institution the Actors' Temple celebrates its centennial with an entertainment-packed dinner and show at the Friars Club, 57 East 55th Street, on Monday, March 13, at 6pm.

The New School's College of Performing Arts welcomes the public to the fourth edition of (Un)Silent Film Night, a performance series in which The College of Performing Arts Theater Orchestra performs live music to classic silent films. In celebrating the New Year 5776, The Actors' Temple, founded in 1917 and located in a landmark building in the heart of the theater district since 1923, introduces a new initiative ARTS @ AT, to reinforce their historic commitment to serving Jewish theater artists and maintaining a relationship with the surrounding NYC arts community. Sophie Tucker, Red Buttons, Jack Benny and the Three Stooges are among the scores of well-known entertainers who frequented its striking halls. The Actors' Temple is located at 339 West 47th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenue.

New plays by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Paula Vogel and the actor and playwright Colman Domingo will be produced by the Vineyard Theatre during 2015-16 season, it has been announced by Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern. A third mainstage production for next season is still to be announced. Vineyard Theatre is located at 108 E. 15 St. in New York City.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.
