The 2010 New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, will open with a free joint concert featuring the New York Philharmonic, conducted by Andrey Boreyko, and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, conducted by its music director, Long Yu, with pianist Lang Lang as one of the soloists, Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at 8:00 p.m., on the Great Lawn in Central Park.

The legendary career of stop-motion and visual effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen will be showcased in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' new summer exhibition 'The Fantastical Worlds of Ray Harryhausen,' opening to the public on Friday, May 14, in the Academy's Fourth Floor Gallery in Beverly Hills. Admission is free.

San Francisco's Cutting Ball Theater closes its 10thseason with a reprisal of one of Samuel Beckett's funniest and most ironically chilling works for the stage, KRAPP'S LAST TAPE. A hit with critics and audiences alike last season,KRAPP'S LAST TAPE replaces the previously announced one-woman plays BONE TO PICK and World Premiere companion piece DIADEM by Eugenie Chan, featuring actress Paige Rogers; these two original works are postponed due to illness.
