Feinstein's at Loews Regency will continue its Spring 2012 season with the debut of double Grammy Award winning jazz and pop singer JACK JONES from June 26 to 30. For the performance, Jones will feature songs from his Greatest Hits Tour as well as a few gems from his latest album "Love Ballad." Jones will be accompanied by Music Director Lou Forestieri on piano, Chris Colangelo on bass, Kendall Kay on drums and New York's acclaimed Houston Person on saxophone. An otherworldly soundscape created using nearly 100 speakers, THE MURDER OF CROWS will immerse visitors in a vivid narrative realized through the artists' evocative and poetic use of sound-from crashing waves to a marching band to the hubbub of a factory floor. Park Avenue Armory will present Trisha Brown Dance Company's reconstruction of ASTRAL CONVERTED, a groundbreaking work by choreographer Trisha Brown in collaboration with Robert Rauschenberg (visual and costume design) and John Cage (original music) July 10th - 14th, 2012. The piece will be presented in its entirety for the first time in 18 years in Park Avenue Armory's soaring 55,000-square-foot Wade Thompson Drill Hall. The culminating work in Brown's Valiant Series, ASTRAL CONVERTED premiered at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. in 1991. (more...)
