The S.I.E. Lupus Foundation has announced the addition of Jane Krakowski, Tony award-winner and two-time Emmy nominee (of '30 Rock'), to perform at the 40th Anniversary Life Without Lupus Gala. Beginning at 6 p.m., the Gala will take place at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall on Monday, November 22, and will feature a cocktail reception, seated dinner and a live and silent auction. The evening will honor the founders -- the Golick family -- and Human Genome Sciences/ GlaxoSmithKline. The foundation has been serving the Lupus community since 1970, providing support for families coping with and suffering from this autoimmune disease; particularly those in and around the disadvantaged neighborhoods of New York City and Los Angeles. All proceeds from the Gala event will help in the Foundation's mission to promote and increase awareness, research and ongoing care. (more...)

On Friday, December 31 at 11:00 pm, William K. Trafka will play the 15th annual Organ Concert to Usher in the New Year. Trafka, St. Bartholomew's Director of Music and Organist, will play works of Bach, Howells, and Planyavsky as well as organ transcriptions of orchestral works of Vivaldi and Walton. Trafka's own transcription of Copland's 'Fanfare for the Common Man' will be played at the stroke of midnight with Chris Nappi and Sam Lazzara, percussionists. The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be received. FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed 'Best of New York' by New York Magazine, and 'an invaluable New York institution' by The New York Post, continues its Fall 2010 season with the debut of Broadway star ANDREW KOBER on Sunday, December 12. His new show 'The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year' will include seasonal favorites like 'Sleigh Ride' and 'The Christmas Song,' as well as newer songs by Jamie Cullum and Rockapella. He will be joined by a jazz quartet led by Music Director Jason Sherbundy and Megan Lawrence, the Tony Award nominated actress and singer, as special guest vocalist.
