Recapturing the glamour of New York's swank hotspots like The Copacabana and The Blue Angel, Purl invokes the smoky, after-hours world of the 1940s and 50s. Bergen County Players Presents Neil Simon's FOOLS, Opening 10/20

As part of its 80th season celebration, Bergen County Players (BCP) will present Neil Simon's FOOLS, a 'light, frothy, fairy tale for adults featuring Simon's brilliant use of vaudeville, slapstick, puns and wordplay.' Under the direction of Iris Weinhouse, FOOLS will be performed at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from October 20th through November 10th at The Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell, NJ. Shows will be on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets may be purchased online at www.bcplayers.org, by calling 201-261-4200 or by visiting the box office at 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell during regular box office hours. Gotham Early Music Scene (GEMS), as part of its milestone Fifth Anniversary celebration, announces "GEMAS," a new series of early music concerts in collaboration with the Americas Society featuring the early music of the Americas. The series will be co-directed by Americas Society Music Director Sebastian Zubieta and the celebrated soprano Nell Snaidas. The opening concert, by lutenist Paul O'Dette, will be performed on Friday, November 9, 7:00 p.m., at Americas Society, 680 Park Avenue (between 68th and 69th Streets). This concert is part of Carnegie Hall's "Voices from Latin America" series this fall, which partners with outside organizations for performances in venues throughout the city. (more...)
