BWW Interviews: Kalen Allmandinger, one of the "Blue Men" in Blue Man Group at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, January 18 - 23.
by Joseph Harrison - Jan 9, 2011
If you have heard of Blue Man Group or experienced one of their previous productions or tours, you know how unique and exciting their world famous productions can be. Filled with experiences that defy categorization, Blue Man Group is best known for multi-media performances that feature three bald and blue characters who take the audience on a journey that is funny, intelligent and visually stunning. When the latest tour arrives at the Fabulous Fox Theatre January 18 - 23, however, Atlanta audiences, even those who have experienced the Blue phenomenon, are in for something new and exciting. Featuring classic moments and brand new content, this first theatrical production to tour North America is sure to please. The "Blue Men" are usually men of few (or more accurately, no) words, but I got one of them, Kalen Allmandinger, a veteran Blue Man, to speak long enough to tell me a little about himself, this exciting new production and why audiences of all ages are in for a real treat.
BWW Interviews: Robert Butters, Producer of Peter Pan at Atlanta’s Pemberton Place, beginning January 21.
by Joseph Harrison - Jan 4, 2011
For many people, old and young alike, the story of Peter Pan brings up very distinct images: the Darling children flying off with Peter to Neverland, the irascible Captain Hook and his band of surly pirates, or the mischevious fairy, Tinkerbell. These memories come from years of tellings and re-tellings of this classic story, but new memories will be created for theater-goers when the latest production of Peter Pan comes to Atlanta January 21 through April 10. Performing in a state-of-the-art tented structure in Pemberton Place (downtown, between the World of Coke and the Georgia Aquarium) this production, which utilizes 360 degrees of CGI graphics and state of the art technology to immerse the audience in the world of Peter Pan, is sure to amaze. To learn about the production and its journey to Atlanta, we spoke with Robert Butters, one of the producers of the show and found out what we can expect when Peter and friends fly into Atlanta later this month.

BWW EXCLUSIVE: Jerry Springer Talks TV, DWTS, Broadway & PETER PAN in London
by Robert Diamond - Dec 21, 2010
Celebrating twenty years of THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW on the air, the controversial talk show host and stage personality was kind enough to set aside some time this week to talk to me about his stints as Billy Flynn in CHICAGO - on Broadway and in the West End - as well as joining recent InDepth InterView participants Raul Esparza and Alice Ripley onstage as the Narrator in the 2000 revival of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW on Broadway. Coming up, Jerry will be playing the role of Captain Hook in the UK special holiday event panto production of PETER PAN next month. In this revealing discussion, we also touch upon the rise of reality TV, DANCING WITH THE STARS, Howard Stern, Rosie O'Donnell, why theatre is the best art form on the planet, and much, much more. And, no theatre-centric Springer discussion would be complete without a thorough analysis of the shockingly brilliant JERRY SPRINGER: THE OPERA, winner of the Olivier Award for Best Musical and now available on Region 2 DVD.
