Atlantic Theater Company announces complete casting for the world premiere of Leslie Ayvazian's new comedy MAKE ME, directed by Atlantic Associate Artistic Director Christian Parker. Broadway veterans Anthony Arkin (I'm Not Rappaport); Candy Buckley (After The Fall); Jessica Hecht (Julius Caesar); J.R. Horne (The Crucible); Richard Masur (Democracy) and Ellen Parker (The Heidi Chronicles) will star in Atlantic's final production of its 2008-2009 season, beginning previews at Atlantic Stage 2 on May 19 and opening May 31. Playwright and screenwriter Ayvazian's hit Off-Broadway play Nine Armenians won the Kennedy Center's Roger L. Stevens Award, the John Gassner Outer Critics Award and the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.

Spring has arrived and the The Ringwald is taking a break from the blood and the camp to bring Detroit the Michigan Premiere of the new one-man musical, Songs from an Unmade Bed. Opening Saturday, May 9th at 8PM, Songs from an Unmade Bed will play Saturdays ? Mondays for an exclusive four-week engagement ending on Monday, June 1st.

Many young fans of Spring Awakening dream of one day getting to play a role in the show they love so much, and Andy Mientus is living proof that the dream can come true. An avid fan of the Broadway production and creator of the largest Spring Awakening site on Facebook, Andy was lucky enough to be cast as Hanschen in the current National Tour. Spring Awakening is currently in Toronto at the Canon Theatre, and Andy Mientus took some time to sit down and answer some questions for his fans.

Taylor Hicks made his debut on Broadway in the role of 'Teen Angel' this past summer. This brand new production of GREASE will feature songs from the smash hit 1978 motion picture performed for the first time ever in a Broadway production. GREASE is presented as a part of the 2008-2009 Citibank Best of Broadway series season under the direction of Carole Shorenstein Hays. Tickets on sale now. Taylor Hicks achieved widespread fame in 2006 as a contestant on the hugely successful FOX singing competition 'American Idol.' On May 24, 2006, Hicks was named the winner of the fifth season of 'Idol' with over 63.4 million votes in total. Winning the title over Katharine McPhee, the announcement was made during the live finale episode which aired to a worldwide audience of over 200 million viewers. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Taylor Hicks' passion for music began at an early age. He toured the Southeastern Unites States during his teenage years and released two independent albums. Known for his energetic performances with influences derived from classic soul, blues and R&B music, he quickly grew a large fan base among the millions of viewers and voters who tuned in to 'Idol' each week. His fans ultimately dubbed themselves the 'Soul Patrol.'

Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening may have been banned from the stage in the 1890s, but unlike the troubled adolescents whose lives it chronicles, the play survived those growing pains to become one of the seminal works of German drama, not to mention the template for just about every teen tragedy from Rebel Without a Cause onward.

Producer Randy Taradash announced today that bare, the original rock musical by Damon Intrabartolo and Jon Hartmere will hold an invite only New York presentation on Tuesday, February 24 in anticipation of its San Francisco Bay Area premiere in late Fall of 2009. At the Swansea Grand Theatre on Saturday February 21, the title of 2009 Principality Building Society Welsh Musical Theatre Young Singer Of The Year was awarded to Catherine Mort, a young singer from Swansea who is currently studying at the Guildford School of Acting. The result of the closely fought contest was announced by West End's The Sound Of Music star, Connie Fisher, who was herself the 2006 recipient of the award and who has generously given her time both this year and in 2008 to serve as one of the adjudicators for the contest. Also amongst the list of previous winners of the title are Craig Yates (now a member of BBC's Last Choir Standing winners Only Men Aloud), David Thaxton (the current Enjolras in London's Les Miserables) and Hayley Gallivan (who recently commenced playing the role of Martha in Spring Awakening at the Lyric, Hammersmith).
