Spring has arrived and the The Ringwald is taking a break from the blood and the camp to bring Detroit the Michigan Premiere of the new one-man musical, Songs from an Unmade Bed. Opening Saturday, May 9th at 8PM, Songs from an Unmade Bed will play Saturdays – Mondays for an exclusive four-week engagement ending on Monday, June 1st.

One lyricist and 17 composers join forces to create a unique music/theatre event in Songs from an Unmade Bed, a solo work that propels a smart, resilient, wry, and ultimately romantic gay New Yorker through the heartaches and triumphs of love in the big city. Mark Campbell's lyrics on the endlessly surprising experience of urban romance have been set by an eclectic roster of today's musical artists including Duncan Sheik (Tony award-winning composer of Spring Awakening).

Jamie Richards performs this funny, sexy, elegiac, ironic work with direction by Joe Plambeck, music direction by Michael Smith, choreography by Jerry Haines and piano by Amy Condit.

Please note: Songs from an Unmade Bed is replacing the originally planned spring show, Falsettos.

Who Wants Cake? opened the doors to their resident home, The Ringwald, in May 2007 with Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy. Quickly, The Ringwald became a mainstay of Detroit’s theatre community. Their first season offered up slice after slice of successful shows including Southern Baptist Sissies, Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical, Bug, and The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode. Who Wants Cake? was named the 2008 Best Theatre Group in Channel 4’s Vote 4 The Best contest.

Tickets for Songs from an Unmade Bed are $20 for the 8PM Saturday performances, $15.00 for Sunday matinees at 3PM and Monday 8PM performances are half off regular priced tickets at only $10.00 a ticket. Please note that the first Sunday performance on May 10th at 3PM will be Pay-What-You-Can.

Reservations may be made by phone at 248-545-5545 or online at www.WhoWantsCakeTheatre.com. The box office opens 45 minutes before performances.
