The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance kicks off its fall season with the BlakTinX Performance Series from October 19 to November 20, 2018.  This annual multidisciplinary festival inaugurated in 2002 celebrates art and performance by Black, Latinx and artists of color. The League of Professional Theatre Women (Kelli Lynn Harrison & Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents), an organization which has been leading the gender parity conversation and championing women in the professional theatre for over 35 years, will present its first Oral History Project of the 2018-19 season with Tony-nominated actress Lois Smith on Monday, October 22 starting at 6pm in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (111 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street). Lookingglass Theatre Company, Court Theatre and Manual Cinema, Lifeline Theatre, and Remy Bumppo Theatre Company announce FRANKENSTEIN: Unearthed, a one-time-only event exploring the four productions of this classic tale coming to Chicago stages during the 2018-2019 season. After their opening night was rained out on Friday, July 20th, the diverse and youthful cast of Hairspray at The Jenny Wiley Theatre, an outdoor amphitheatre in Prestonsburg, Kentucky--population 3,255 -- celebrated their work and art by transforming a local pizzeria into a piano bar and joyfully singing through a concert of the show for an enthusiastic local crowd. The second performance on Saturday, July 21st, made it to the end of Act 1... when another severe storm broke loose.

Pittsburgh CLO's THE FULL MONTY will take it all off at the Benedum Center this summer July 6 - 15. With a book written by Terrence McNally (Ragtime) and the music/ lyric talents of David Yazbek (The Band's Visit, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), this duo cooks up an aggressive crowd-pleaser that is both highly-entertaining and charmingly uplifting.

My True Colors Festival (MTCF) is pleased to present its lineup for 2018, including Saturday Church (June 14, 7 PM), a mini musical about a shy 14-year-old-boy struggling with gender identity and religion. He escapes the burden of his new responsibilities as "man of the house" after the death of his father and finds his passion in the process through voguing and the NYC ball scene, with the help of a vibrant transgender community where he is enlisted into Saturday Church, a program for at-risk L.G.B.T.Q. youth.

Eastbound Theatre, a division Milford Arts Council, is thrilled to present the final show of its 24th season, the compelling and complex Third, by Wendy Wasserstein, directed by Nancy A. Herman. This August, New York City will host the first ever Classical Bridge, an international music festival, academy and conference designed to build bridges through the music. Origin Theatre Company concludes its 15th season of producing the American premieres of plays by emerging European playwrights at its annual spring gala on Monday May 14, at 6:30pm. Hosted by Mutual of America, 320 Park Avenue, the evening features a smorgasbord of international pleasures, including rollicking musical entertainment, and appearances by a colorful cross-section of local and visiting theatre luminaries, business leaders and supporters of the arts.

Award-winning pioneer playwright Qui Nguyen brilliantly chronicles the love story of his parents' meeting in an Arkansas refugee center after fleeing Vietnam after the fall of Saigon in 1975. It's a buddy story, an all-American romance, and a motorcycle road-trip adventure that reexamines how we think about the heroes and victims of the Vietnam War. Vietgone skips through time and roams the globe with snarky humor, hip-hop, and lots of sex. It's one ironic, foul-mouthed, bad-ass new play.

Shakespeare Theatre Company today announces the cast of Lerner and Loewe's multiple Tony Award-winning musical Camelot. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul (Kiss Me, Kate; Man of La Mancha), the classic musical will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from May 22 through July 1, concluding STC's 2017-2018 mainstage season.

Chicago has lost another company offering FREE professional theater, as Quest Theatre Ensemble, founded in 2002 by Amanda Banden, Buck Blue, Jason Bowen, Andrew Park and Nick Rupard, has ceased operations. The Quest announcement was made today by Jason Bowen, President of the company's Board of Directors. Chicago's other free theater company - Oracle Productions - ceased operations in December 2016.

REPRISE 2.0 is now announced, presenting a season of three classic American musicals at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, by Marcia Seligson, Producing Artistic Director of the new performing arts organization.  REPRISE 2.0 is partnering with the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's Department of Theater (UCLA TFT), chaired by Brian Kite. 

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a three-week extension for Jerry Springer - The Opera, with Matt McGrath appearing as Jerry Springer beginning March 13.  Terrence Mann, currently appearing in the role of Jerry Springer, plays his final performance March 11 due to an existing commitment beyond that date.
