Two legends in experimental theater – the iconic writer/director Martha Clarke and the Tony Award-winning La MaMa ETC – will collaborate for the first time when La MaMa presents the world premiere of Ms. Clarke’s newest full-length work, GOD’S FOOL.

Global superstar Carrie Underwood celebrated the RIAA Platinum certification of her latest album, Cry Pretty, as well as four certified singles from the album this past Friday in Nashville. Following her CRS (Country Radio Seminar) Artist Interview at the Omni Hotel, Underwood was surprised onstage with a Platinum plaque from UMG Nashville CEO & Chairman, Mike Dungan, and President, Cindy Mabe, for her sixth studio album and the first she co-produced alongside David Garcia.

Ashley Wheater MBE, The Mary B. Galvin Artistic Director of The Joffrey Ballet, has announced the Company's 2020-2021 inaugural season at Lyric Opera House, featuring a ballet masterpiece from legendary choreographer Sir Kenneth MacMillan, a world premiere from choreographer Cathy Marston, a Joffrey debut from George Balanchine, a Chicago premiere from Hamburg Ballet Chief Choreographer John Neumeier, and the fifth anniversary of Christopher Wheeldon's holiday classic The Nutcracker. The Joffrey Ballet begins its 65th season with MacMillan's iconic Manon, October 14-25, 2020, followed by Wheeldon's magical production of The Nutcracker, December 5-27, 2020. For its winter engagement, the Joffrey presents a mixed program that includes the world premiere adaptation of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men by Marston and the Joffrey premiere of Serenade by Balanchine, February 17-28, 2021. Closing the season is the Chicago premiere of Neumeier's acclaimed The Little Mermaid, April 21- May 2, 2021.

dick clark productions and ABC today announced country superstar Carrie Underwood and multi-platinum selling band Imagine Dragons as part of the first round of performers at the “2018 American Music Awards.” Additionally, multi-platinum selling artists Post Malone and Ty Dolla $ign will team up for their first-ever AMA performance. Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross, the “2018 American Music Awards,” the world's largest fan-voted awards show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.

The Washington Ballet is excited to launch its season opener TWB Welcomes at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. The program, which includes acclaimed highlights from choreographers Alexei Ratmansky and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, as well as iconic masterworks (likeSerenade and Les Sylphides), provides a highly curated production that defines ballet as an art form over the last century. For the third consecutive year, Miranda Lambert's MuttNation Foundation will be entertaining CMA Fest fans with Music City's cutest canines, all available for adoption to caring, qualified families. Partnering with Nashville Humane Association, MuttNation will have adorable adoptables available each day from11-3pm at the MuttNation rig located inside the Music City Center. Bev Lambert, Miranda's mom and co-founder of MuttNation Foundation, will be on-site to have photos taken with each adopting family. With MuttNation's support, more than 100 shelter dogs have been rescued by country music fans at CMA Fest over the past two years. 

Vietgone by Qui Nguyen is the Vietnamese-American playwright's own creation story-a telling of his parents' 1975 refugee camp romance in a "geek theater" spectacle that's at turns affecting, sage, raucous, and fantastical. A screenwriter for Marvel Studios and founder of Obie Award-winning company Vampire Cowboys, Nguyen's work champions representation and diversity on stage while dripping with pop culture nods, contemporary music, and action-adventure narrative. The production pairs this Studio-commissioned playwright with director and Studio Cabinet member Natsu Onoda Power. Drawing on Vietgone's comic book aesthetics, Studio's Stage 4 is transformed into a garage concert with a live band and original funk-rock-punk-n-roll score, giving audiences a front row seat to this anything-but-typical story of boy meets girl.

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) has announced details for the fifth production of its 42nd season, Vietgone, which will be making its San Diego premiere after a successful Off-Broadway run. A love story like no other from playwright Qui Nguyen ( She Kills Monsters ), Vietgone, will feature innovative artists new to the San Diego REP, including director Jesca Prudencio (Ping Chong + Company) and starring Ben Levin ( Allegiant and Ugly Betty ) and Katherine Ko ( Hollywood and Angels in America ). This moving comedy begins on Thursday, January 25, 2018 and plays through Sunday, February 18, 2018 with an opening night on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Space Theatre at San Diego REP in Horton Plaza.

Curio Theatre Company follows its Fringe hit staged at the Woodlands and opens its Mainstage Season with Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize-winning Crimes of the Heart. This smart and surprisingly funny portrait of a dysfunctional family is directed by Gay Carducci and runs November 15-December 9. Opening Night is Friday, November 17 at 8 p.m.

'Stories by Hand,' Preeti Vasudevan's autobiographical solo that combines language, music and dance to tell its witty, poignant, and tragic stories, will receive its world premiere at New York Live Arts, November 2-4. Vasudevan's collaborators include Paul Kaiser (literary dramaturg), Robert Wiezel (lighting designer), and Paul Jacob (composer).

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center (JACCC) present the mainland concert premiere of GRAMMY Award winners Tak Matsumoto and Daniel Ho's new album, Electric Island, Acoustic Sea. Following a sold-out 24-show tour in Japan and Hawaii earlier this year, Los Angeles audiences will be treated to two special events celebrating Gibson Guitar legend Matsumoto and ukulele virtuoso/multi-instrumentalist Ho's debut album. First, the duo will kick off their mainland premiere with an intimate Q&A and exclusive live performance - An Evening With Tak Matsumoto and Daniel Ho at the GRAMMY Museum in Downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 10 at 8:00pm. Then, four days later, a sensational live concert experience The Electric Island, Acoustic Sea Concert will rock JACCC's Aratani Theater in Little Tokyo on Saturday, October 14, 2017. The performance will start at 7:00pm, and tickets range from $39 for balcony seating to $49 for orchestra seating. New York City Ballet MOVES makes its grand return to Northrop's stage after five years on Sat, Oct. 28 at 7:30 pm as part of the 2017//18 Northrop Dance Season . This select group of NYCB principal dancers, soloists, corps members and musicians offer a stunning repertory program of five different ballets four with live music. Works include pieces by NYCB's co-founding choreographers, George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, as well as exciting contemporary artists Justin Peck, Christopher Wheeldon and Angelin Preljocaj.
