Mike McGowan, (PRISCILLA, GREASE, RAGTIME) currently on tour in BOOK OF MORMON will reunite with his KISS ME KATE cohort, Broadway veteran Michele Ragusa (YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, URINETOWN, RAGTIME) to star in a staged concert version of the classic musical with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Matthew Kraemer and directed by James Brennan.

The Boston Landmarks Orchestra (LO) announces its 2013 summer season at the DCR's historic Hatch Shell on Boston's Esplanade along the Charles River, and additional concerts and educational activities in Boston's neighborhoods. Concerts at the Hatch Shell take place every Wednesday at 7 pm, beginning July 17 and running through August 28. Neighborhood event times vary. All concerts are free.

The National Theatre's production of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time leads the list with eight nominations, followed by the toe-tapping new musical Top Hat receiving seven, and the West End transfer of Chichester Festival Theatre's revival of Sweeney Todd in close competition with six. Other stand-out nominations include The Audience and Kiss Me, Kate receiving five each, and Constellations, The Bodyguard and Twelfth Night with four.

Cabrillo Music Theatre celebrates its 20th Anniversary in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza by proudly announcing its 2013-2014 Season of shows, produced exclusively in the Kavli Theatre, at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. The 2013-2014 Season, entitled 'Moving Forward, Looking Back,' is Cabrillo's most sizzling season ever. With a combination of classic and contemporary musicals, premieres and returning favorites, every show is gonna burn up the Kavli stage in a season that is just TOO DARN HOT! Yale will pay tribute to alumnus composer and lyricist Cole Porter (B.A. 1913) on the centennial of his graduation from the University by presenting his popular musical 'Kiss Me, Kate' in a concert version with an all-Yale cast and crew. Porter's riff on Shakespeare's 'Taming of the Shrew' will have two performances today, Jan. 19, at University Theater, 222 York St., at 2 and 8 p.m.

Today in 1948, opened at the Shubert Theatre. Kiss Me, Kate is a musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter. It is structured as a play within a play, where the interior play is a musical version of William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. The original production starred Alfred Drake, Patricia Morison, Lisa Kirk and Harold Lang. Kiss Me, Kate was a response to Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! and other integrated musicals, and it proved to be his biggest hit and the only one of his shows to run for more than 1,000 performances on Broadway. It won the first Tony Award presented for Best Musical, in 1949.

The Board of CCCT kicks off its season with the hit musical 'Kiss Me Kate', running 7-23 September. The story involves the production of a musical version of William Shakespeare's 'The Taming of the Shrew' and the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham, the show's director, producer, and star, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi. A secondary romance concerns Lois Lane, the actress playing Bianca, and her gambler boyfriend, Bill, who runs afoul with some gangsters. Lots of fun and songs by Cole Porter. Show times are 8.00pm on Fridays/Saturdays and 2.30pm on Sundays.

According to Baz Bamigboye for Daily Mail, Trevor Nunn's upcoming production of KISS ME KATE will transfer to the Old Vic after playing Chichester Festival Theatre this June. The production, which will star Hannah Waddingham, Alex Bourne and Adam Garcia, is set to open at CFT on June 18 and run through September 1. Possible transfer dates have not yet been announced.
