The producers of ONCE, the acclaimed new Broadway musical, announced today that The Road Company is putting together a US national tour that will launch in the summer of 2013.

The most nominated new musical of the season, with more Tony Award nominations (11) than any other show, ONCE opened on at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street) on Sunday, March 18, 2012 to rave reviews.

ONCE features a book by award-winning Irish playwright & screenwriter, Enda Walsh (Penelope, Hunger, The New Electric Ballroom), the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglove, direction by the acclaimed John Tiffany (Black Watch), movement by Steven Hoggett (Black Watch, American Idiot) and music supervision and orchestrations by Martin Lowe (Mamma Mia!).

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo just announced that its 2013-2014 subscriber season will include What's It All About? Bacharach Reimagined, with musical arrangements by Kyle Riabko and directed by Steven Hoggett; Fetch Clay, Make Man written by Will Power and directed by Des McAnuff; and Love and Information written by Caryl Churchill and directed by James Macdonald. In the coming weeks NYTW will announce an additional production that will round out the season.

The 2013-2014 season of Washington National Opera (WNO) has just been announced by Artistic Director Francesca Zambello. The season includes Tristan and Isolde, a new production of The Force of Destiny, the East Coast premiere of Moby-Dick, The Elixir of Love, and a new production of The Magic Flute. WNO will also present the world premiere of The Lion, The Unicorn, and Me, a holiday-themed family opera commissioned by WNO and written by acclaimed American composer Jeanine Tesori. A second season of the American Opera Initiative will continue WNO's efforts to commission new American works.

Dallas Theater Center Announces 2013-2014 Season

Dallas Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty announced today the theater's 2013-2014 season, which will take place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. DTC's 55th season will once again include a seven-play subscription season comprised of classic plays and musicals as well as new works, including a world premiere new musical and a new adaptation of A Christmas Carol.

Brighton Fringe has launched its 2013 programme online, offering a huge variety of 685 shows (and counting) with 3275 performances and 210 premieres in 178 venues with 38 international acts and 220 home-grown Brighton shows which makes it the richest and largest yet. The Film Society of Lincoln Center (FCLC) and African Film Festival, Inc. (AFF) have teamed up once again for the 20th New York African Film Festival (NYAFF) April 3-9, presented under the banner theme LOOKING BACK, LOOKING FORWARD: 20 YEARS OF THE NEW YORK AFRICAN FILM FESTIVAL. This year's lineup will pay homage to master Senegalese director Ousmane Sembene and the first generation of African filmmakers, while passing the baton to a new generation of African visual storytellers, who continue to transform our understanding of, and vision for, the Continent. The Metropolitan Opera's 2013-14 season will feature many of the world's greatest singers, conductors, and theater artists in 26 operas, including six new productions, of a varied repertory that ranges from the Baroque era to the 21st century. Met Music Director James Levine will return to the Met podium for the first time in two years, conducting three operas with which he has long been associated: a new production of Verdi's final masterpiece Falstaff, Mozart's Cosi fan tutte, and Berg's Wozzeck. Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi will be conducting two operas in the 2013-14 season, Rossini's La Cenerentola and Puccini's Madama Butterfly.
