BWW Review: I HATE HAMLET at Playhouse On Park
by Joseph Harrison - Feb 29, 2016

If you ask the average theater-goer their opinion of Shakespeare, you are bound to get a variety of answers. Some will immediately begin gushing about which of the bard's plays they have seen, which they like the best, or which they don't care for. Others will pretend to be fans, but make excuses anytime they are invited to one of his plays. But some will just say outright, 'I hate Shakespeare', or in the case of Andrew Rally the television star who finds himself in the middle of a surreal, and altogether paranormal situation, 'I Hate Hamlet!' That, however, is soon to change.

by Louisa Brady - Feb 21, 2016

Bad Quarto Productions, a theatre company specializing in performing modern theatre using Shakespearean staging techniques, will stage the first quarto of Hamlet, the earliest printed version of Shakespeare's most famous play. Printed in 1603, the first quarto of Hamlet was published just a year before the first of the more familiar printings of the play. Shorter, faster paced, and more action packed than the second quarto and First Folio versions, the first quarto of Hamlet forces us to reconsider what we know about both Hamlet and Shakespeare as a dramatist.

by Guest Blogger: Christina Bianco - Aug 30, 2015

One year ago, I was 2,682nd in an online queue to purchase tickets for The Barbican Theatre's 'Hamlet.'  Of course, it is now common knowledge that the entire three-month run completely sold out in less than four hours, so I count myself very lucky to have snagged seats.
