In October 1995, the first production of The 24 Hour Plays took place in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Inspired by Scott McCloud's 24 hour comics (comic books composed in a single day), creator Tina Fallon really only intended the project as a one-time-only event.
Twelve years and three hundred plays later, The 24 Hour Plays have been produced in New York, London, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Greece. This success has led to the recent collaboration with organizations like The Old Vic and Urban Arts Partnerships, to produce celebrity shows that benefit a variety of worthy causes.
The Production Company presents the US Premiere of the 2004 Wal Cherry Award Play of the Year 2006 Australian Writers' Guild Award (AWGIE) Best Play, Love.
The play is written by Patricia Cornelius and stars Bronwen Coleman, Erin Maya Darke, and Ken Matthews. It is directed by Mark Armstrong.
The show is a limited engagement and runs from March 20 - April 12, 2009. Opening night is Friday, March 20 at 8:00 pm.

San Francisco's cutting-edge Cutting Ball Theater continues its 2008-09 season with the Bay Area Premiere of Will Eno's London and Off-Broadway hit THOM PAIN (based on nothing). Crowded Fire Artistic Director Marissa Wolf helms this Pulitzer Prize-nominated one-man meditation on the empty promises that life makes, starring Jonathan Bock. The Tricycle Theatre will present The Great Game: Afghanistan from 17 April - 14 June 2009, a festival exploring Afghan culture and history through fifteen plays, a ten day film programme, Qawali Sham Sufi Group concert, ceramic and photographic exhibitions, discussion sessions, writers' talks and play readings (in conjunction with the National Theatre Studio). Previews for The Great Game: Afghanistan begin on 17 April with a press day on 24 April. In addition, the Tricycle's Education Department will produce a series of projects to support the Festival.
Eight new productions, four of which are company premieres, will highlight the Metropolitan Opera's 2009-10 season. General Manager Peter Gelb and Music Director James Levine jointly announced plans that include: the Met premieres of Rossini's Armida, Verdi's Attila, Jan?ček's From the House of the Dead, and Shostakovich's The Nose; new productions of Bizet's Carmen, Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Thomas's Hamlet, and Puccini's Tosca; and 18 revivals from the company's repertory. The season is the first to be entirely planned under Gelb's leadership, in collaboration with Levine (the past three seasons were planned before Gelb became General Manager in 2006-07 but included some productions, repertoire, and casting changes made by Gelb).
