This morning, Norbert Leo Butz and Kathleen Chalfant announced the nominations for The 77th Annual Drama League Awards in the categories of Distinguished Production of Play, Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Revival of a Musical and the Distinguished Performance Award. Both actors are previous winners of The Drama League's Distinguished Performance Award. Old Vic Theatre Announces 2011 TS Eliot US/UK Exchange Artists

50 of America's top young theatre artists will be travelling to London this May as part of The 2011 TS Eliot US/UK Exchange - a project run by the historic The Old Vic Theatre in London, currently under the artistic direction of Kevin Spacey.

New Village Arts is proud to present the West Coast Premiere of Scott Hudson's two-hander SWEET STORM. Directed by Ensemble Member Daren Scott, SWEET STORM features Ensemble Member Adam Brick with Kelly Iversen as young newlyweds in 1960's Florida, spending their wedding night in a romantic treehouse built by Bo for his new wife Ruthie. SWEET STORM will be playing at New Village Arts Theatre (2787 State Street, Carlsbad Village) from April 20 - May 15, 2011. The official opening night is April 23 at 8 PM. Directed by Ethan McSweeny (Broadway's Gore Vidal's 'The Best Man'), A Time to Kill runs May 6-June 19, 2011 in the Kreeger Theater.

'The 2011-2012 upcoming Brown-Forman series is an exciting multi-faceted program which includes the staging of two classic novels; a heartwarming and honest exploration of the personal impact of war; a three-time Tony Award-nominated play about love, longing, and science, and the regional premiere of an Off-Broadway hit. Plus, an exciting line up of new plays in the 36th Annual Humana Festival and the return of three holiday favorites', said Masterson on his final season selection as Artistic Director of Actors Theatre. For Beth Henley's Crimes of the Heart to be successful it's vital that you cast three actresses who can convincingly and effectively play the roles of the three McGrath sisters of Hazelhurst, Mississippi. Director Pat Street probably heaved a huge sigh of relief when she saw Melodie Madden Adams, Evelyn Brush and Laura Thomas Sonn walk into auditions, knowing those three were more than equal to the task - but Sondra Morton would be well-advised to watch her back (you'll find out why later).
