EBE Ensemble (Eric Alba, Artistic Director) will be producing its second annual free, outdoor summer program at Prospect Park's 1887 Music Pagoda, performing Much Ado About Nothing directed by Charley Layton.

Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 65th Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced May 3, 2011 by Tony Award winning actor Matthew Broderick and Tony Award winning actress Anika Noni Rose, at the Tony Award Nominations Announcement sponsored by IBM.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater's (CST) premiere comedy Murder for Two-A Killer Musical has been extended six weeks through July 31, 2011, by popular demand.

The Old Globe's presents its 2011 Shakespeare Festival, performed in repertory in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Adrian Noble returns as the Artistic Director of the 2011 Festival and will direct Shakespeare's The Tempest and Peter Shaffer's Amadeus. The Stratford Shakespeare Festival's Board of Governors announceed that Des McAnuff will continue as Artistic Director through the 2013 season. 'Mr. McAnuff is a very gifted director and leader who is much in demand, and we are delighted that he has agreed to continue as our Artistic Director for an additional two years,' says Dr. Lee Myers, Chair of the Board of Governors.

The Old Globe's 2011 Shakespeare Festival will include Peter Shaffer's AMADEUS as well as Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. The festival will take place at the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre in San Diego. On their first day of rehearsal, April 19, the cast and creative team of the festival created a video to introduce themselves.

The Boomerang Theatre Company (Tim Errickson, Artistic Director; Sue Abbott, Managing Director) will kick off their 2011 season with an outdoor production of Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing, directed by Daniel Talbott and starring Sara Thigpen and Nate Miller.
