Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll and Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War, Bonnie and Clyde) is bringing "Frank and Friends" to the historic Tarrytown Music Hall (13 E. Main St. Tarrytown, NY) on Friday night, April 8, 2016 at 8pm. Proceeds from the show (ticket prices range from $35 to $175) will benefit Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley. Broadway's new musical comedy DISASTER! opens tonight, March 8, at the Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street), directed by Jack Plotnick with a book by three-time Emmy Award nominee and Grammy Award nominee Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick. The Tony-nominated Best Musical by Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton, The Scarlet Pimpernel, returned to the New York stage at Feinstein's/54 Below for a one-night-only celebration of its tempestuous and much-beloved score. The concerts featured cast members from the original THREE Broadway versions of the show as well as additional stars who would likely be cast in the show if it were revived today. Once again, New York City audiences got the chance to hear songs like 'Into the Fire,' 'Falcon in the Dive,' 'When I Look at You,' 'Storybook,' and 'Where's the Girl?' performed by stars who know how to sing them. Douglas Sills has joined the cast of George and Ira Gershwin's Lady, Be Good, joining previously announced cast members Tommy Tune, Colin Donnell, Danny Gardner, Jeff Hiller, Erin Mackey, Patti Murin, Richard Poe, Jennifer Laura Thompson and Kirsten Wyatt. The opening production of New York City Center's 2015Encores! season, directed by Mark Brokaw and choreographed by Randy Skinner, will run for seven performances, February 4 - 8, 2015. Founding Encores! Music Director Rob Fisher will return as Guest Music Director and has supervised the restoration of the Gershwins' original score.
MR. MAGOO'S CHRISTMAS CAROL, benefitting the The Actors Fund, was held last night, December 15, 2014 at 7:30 pm at The Gerald W. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College. Klea Blackhurst (Radio Gals), Janet Dacal (Wonderland, In the Heights) and Tony Award nominee Tony Sheldon (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) were a part of the star studded cast that featured Tony Award nominee Douglas Sills (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Little Shop of Horrors) in the title role.
