Pink princesses of all ages filled the seats of Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) donning tiaras and wands and dressed in their favorite color for the opening weekend of PINKALICIOUS THE MUSICAL. Pinkalicious is currently on stage at Valley Youth Theatre and has been extended through May 8th due to popular demand. The Lyric Stage Company of Boston's 2015-16 Season continues today, April 8 with MR. BURNS, a post-electric play by Anne Washburn, with a score by Michael Friedman and lyrics by Anne Washburn. Directed by A. Nora Long, the production also features music director Allyssa Jones and choreographer Yo-El Cassell. MR. BURNS runs through May 7, 2016, with the official opening slated for April 10.

Sondheim is the winner of an Academy Award, eight Tony Awards, including the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre, multiple Grammy Awards, a Pulitzer Prize and the Laurence Olivier Award. Described by Frank Rich of the New York Times as 'the greatest, and perhaps best-known artist working in musical theatre', his most famous scores include (as composer/lyricist) A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, and Assassins. He also wrote the lyrics for West Side Story and Gypsy. Lloyd Webber has composed 13 musicals, a song cycle, a set of variations, two film scores, and a Latin Requiem Mass. He has also gained a number of honours, including a knighthood in 1992, followed by a peerage from the British Government for services to Music, seven Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, fourteen Ivor Novello Awards, seven Olivier Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2006. Several of his songs, notably 'The Music of the Night', 'I Don't Know How to Love Him', 'Don't Cry for Me, Argentina' and 'You Must Love Me', 'Any Dream Will Do' and 'Memory' have been widely recorded and were hits outside of their parent musicals.

As part of their 50th Anniversary Season, the critically acclaimed and award-winning Roundabout Theatre Company is proud to present, direct from Broadway, the national tour of SAM MENDES (Skyfall, American Beauty) and ROB MARSHALL's (Into the Woodsand Chicago, the films) Tony Award-winning production of CABARET, playing this weekend, February 23-28 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts as part of the Associated Bank Broadway at the Marcus Center and Broadway Across America-Milwaukee series.

On Monday, January 18th, The Theater People podcast welcomes Tony-nominated FUN HOME star Beth Malone. Malone made her Broadway debut in the 2006 production of RING OF FIRE, and has found much success working regionally, including a critically acclaimed turn in the title role of THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN.

On Monday, November 30, the Theater People podcast welcomes Broadway favorite Elizabeth Stanley. She is currently headlining the first national tour of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY in the role of Francesca. Stanley made her Broadway debut as April in the 2006 John Doyle helmed production of COMPANY. She went on to originate the role of Allison in CRY BABY, and then Dyanne in MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. She was most recently seen on Broadway as Claire in last year's Tony-nominated ON THE TOWN.

The Mountain Play - 'A Great Outdoor Theatre Adventure' and the San Francisco Bay Area's most magical outdoor theater experience - is proud to present the Tony Award© winning musical West Side Story directed by Jay Manley, music directed by David Moschler and choreographed by Nicole Helfer for its 103rd season in 2016.

As previously reported, Rob Marshall (Into the Woods, Chicago) will direct a new Disney film based on their classic 1964 movie, MARY POPPINS. Speaking to Vulture, the helmer revealed more about the project, which will take place in 1934, when the original P.L. Travers books -- about the magical nanny's continued adventures with the Banks family -- were written and could include a cameo (or more, please!) by the original film's legendary star.

The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). The production begins tonight, September 16, with an opening slated for September 24, and runs through October 25, 2015.

It's Mary that we love, and Mary's coming back! According to Variety, Rob Marshall (Into the Woods, Chicago) will direct a Disney reboot of their classic 1964 film, Mary Poppins. The project will be produced by John DeLuca and Marc Platt. The film will reportedly take place 20 years after the events of the original movie, and will include 'storylines from the P.L. Travers' children books focusing on the magical nanny's continued adventures with the Banks family.' Casting has not yet been announced.
