Casting has been completed and rehearsals are underway for the stage adaptation of the 3D-animated film that first appeared as a holiday special in 2005.

With a cheerful attitude that knows no bounds, Eubie - the happiest elf at the North Pole - is determined to spread his apropos spirit of the season wherever he goes in Harry Connick Jr.'s The Happy Elf, now onstage at Clarksville's Roxy Regional Theatre in a delightful production directed by Ryan Bowie and starring the appealing John-Paul Fox in the eponymous role.

After the turkey is put away on Thanksgiving evening, bring your out-of-town guests downtown for family entertainment sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit. 'Dark Legacy: Bright Lights of Black Broadway' showcases  black composers, lyricists and performers of Broadway and their influence on other composers who wrote for the black experience.

Mark Cortale, Producing Artistic Director of The Art House in Provincetown, MA, has announced that Audra McDonald, the historic six-time Tony-winner and star of Broadway's "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill," "Porgy and Bess," "Ragtime," "Master Class" and TV's "Private Practice," will perform for Broadway @ Town Hall in Provincetown on August 21 for one show only at 8:00 pm, and will also perform for Broadway @ The Performing Arts Center on Martha's Vineyard on August 22 at 8:00 pm for one show only.

SHUFFLE ALONG will play its final Broadway performance today, July 24, 2016, the day six-time Tony-winning star Audra McDonald was already set to depart the production for a multi-month maternity leave. SHUFFLE ALONG began performances on March 15, 2016 and officially opened on April 28 at the Music Box Theatre. It will have played 38 previews and 100 regular performances by the time it ends. Presented by Equity's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) the ACCA Award is the only industry accolade of its kind to honor the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical.

2016 is one of Broadway's most diverse seasons, so much so it spawned a Twitter trending hashtag #TonysSoDiverse following the nominations for this past weekend's awards ceremony. 12 Black and non-Black actors of color were nominated for a Tony Award. For the first time in the Tonys' history, all four musical acting categories were won by Black actors, and if you walk down 45th Street, as soprano Paula Dione Ingram has, the block is lit up by 'Black Broadway.' It's a laudable moment in a theatre history that has not always been so and still continues to have a long way to go, the subject of Ingram's Dark Legacy: Bright Lights of Black Broadway, her debut show at Feinstein's/54 Below on June 4.
