During Sound Theatre Company's 2023 season, an unprecedented number of new works will hit the stages: two world premieres, the Seattle premiere of a Pulitzer-winning play currently on Broadway, and a playwright-in-residence' latest work in development.
While COVID-19 keeps everyone out of theatres, Mirror Stage holds space for audiences and artists to come together virtually and discuss today's pressing issues. Theatre That Gets People Talking, Mirror Stage continues the conversation online with a Playwrights Panel on July 11 at 5:00 PM, Pacific, as part of its new 2nd Saturday series.
After Sound Theatre's four-time Gregory nominated work in 2019 (including Theatre of the Year), Associate Artistic Director Jay O'Leary will kick off Sound Theatre's 2020 season with the world premiere of REPARATIONS by Darren Canady in co-production with LANGSTON HUGHES PERFORMING ARTS INSTITUTE. Examining the secrets and traumas we carry in our bloodlines, playwright Darren Canady urges us to inch closer and closer to decolonizing and deconstructing the dominant narrative.
