Charles Krug announced today its role as a "Leading Sponsor" of the 2016 Napa Valley Film Festival (NVFF) to be held November 9th through the 13th. This year's event will showcase Charles Krug's historic winery grounds and legendary wines throughout the five day festival. A first for Napa Valley's oldest winery, Charles Krug will host a star-studded Vintner Circle dinner for VIP Patrons of the festival along with being a featured film screening venue. Over the five days of the festival, there will be four screenings each day and into the night in the winery's remarkable Carriage House, a historic building dating back to 1881.

NVFF and Peter Mondavi Jr., Co-Proprietor of Charles Krug Winery, will also team up to present the Legendary Filmmaker Honor at the festival's Celebrity Tributes, a ceremony which will take place at the Lincoln Theatre. Attributes of the to-be-named honoree can also be said of Charles Krug Winery - both striving to honor a legacy of excellence in their field with integrity and hard work. Past honorees have included such legendary Hollywood luminaries as Kevin Costner, John Travolta and Colin Farrell.

"Charles Krug Winery is the picture-perfect backdrop for the sixth annual Napa Valley Film Festival, an event that brings together a diverse array of consumers who appreciate film, food and wine. We are pleased to be a Leading Sponsor," said Peter Mondavi Jr. "Our historic grounds bring to life the lore and allure of wine country, as we have seen countless times in film and I am honored to present the Legendary Filmmaker Tribute. I look forward to watching the films and toasting with the actors and filmmakers throughout the event."

The presentation of the Charles Krug Legendary Filmmaker Honor at the NVFF Celebrity Tributes, an event where famous filmmakers and actors participate in on-stage conversations hosted by well known entertainment news personalities, will take place at the Lincoln Theatre, in Yountville on Thursday, November 10. The Legendary Filmmaker Honoree will be presented with a large format bottle of Charles Krug Vintage Selection Cabernet Sauvignon.

"We are absolutely thrilled that the grand, historic Charles Krug Winery has agreed to sponsor the Napa Valley Film Festival this year, as the presenter of the Legendary Filmmaker Honor at our Celebrity Tributes, and as our newest theater venue at our unique film festival," said Brenda Lhormer, Co-Founder/Director of the Napa Valley Film Festival. "Our audiences will have the opportunity to sample Charles Krug's award-wining wines while watching new independent films and participating in inspiring Q&As with the directors, actors and producers after the screenings in the Carriage House on property. The Charles Krug venue is comfortable, elegant and laid back. We look forward to observing Mr. Mondavi and our filmmakers sharing stories. That is when the magic will be made."

ABOUT CHARLES KRUG: Charles Krug Winery, Napa Valley's oldest winery, was established by Prussian immigrant Charles Krug in 1861. The winery is under the direction of Peter Mondavi Jr. and Marc Mondavi, who steward THE FAMILY business passed to them by their father, legendary Napa Valley wine icon Peter Mondavi Sr. THE FAMILY is now proudly welcoming members of the fourth generation to the business, continuing a legacy started over 70 years ago and setting a foundation for generations to come.
