NBC has announced their lead for the new DC comics' adaption of "Constantine". Depending on how you feel about comic book based television shows this may not be of interest, but Matt Ryan comes from across the pond in England and is no stranger to treading the board in theatre performances.

The performing life of Matt Ryan started early as he performed in the West End production of LES MISERABLES. He went on to graduate from the Bristol Old Vic in 2003, and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2004. He has also performed in New York, where he was Horatio in the critically acclaimed run of HAMLET, opposite Jude Law in the title role.

Besides being seen on stage you may also recognize him from "The Tudors", "Torchwood", or "Criminal Minds." If theatre or television don't appeal to you then you may know him from a popular video game where he performed The Voice and motion Capture of Edward Kenway in "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag."

The comic based character seems to fit the description of his comic book iteration; he will be blond, he will be British (Ryan is technically Welsh), and he will be fighting the dark arts. Only time will tell if this show will make the fans of this series happy, but Matt Ryan seems like a good start!
