The Globe Guilders are pleased to announce their annual fashion show and luncheon, Celebrating Couture 2016, presented by Neiman Marcus, to benefit The Old Globe's artistic and arts engagement programs. Each year, the Globe Guilders Fashion Show features couture expertly selected by Neiman Marcus from the elite designers they represent, including Gucci, Etro, and Tom Ford; runway samples from Monique Lhuillier and Marchesa; and a compelling collection from Naeem Khan. Celebrating Couture 2016 will take place on Monday, August 22, 2016 at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina.

This year's exclusive runway show will feature the Fall 2016 collections of select celebrated couture and prêt-à-porter designers. Think gorgeous fall looks that graced the runway in New York: blush tones, new florals, and opulent embellishments. Lush velvets and capes will also be part of the mix, and a new feature this year will be the inclusion of show-stopping shoes and on-trend handbags. Greg Collard, Neiman Marcus's Senior Fashion Producer from Dallas, will be joined by the San Diego Neiman Marcus team to bring together these exquisite fashions for local fashionistas.

Guests will be greeted with a champagne reception at 10:00 a.m., and will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items. Beginning 12:00 noon, there will be a live auction followed by a delicious luncheon. There will also be couture shopping presented by Neiman Marcus following the show in the Grand Foyer. Former Guilder President Linda Van Vark is the Celebrating Couture 2016 Chair; Honorary Chairs are Barbara and Dick Enberg with Stacey and Robert Foxworth. Over 600 supporters of The Old Globe from the San Diego community are expected to attend, including prominent philanthropists, heads of corporations, and representatives of major organizations.

All of San Diego is invited to support this annual event, now a can't-miss staple on San Diego's fashion calendar. Tickets start at $115. For information on reserving a table or a seat at the Fashion Show, please call Barbara Bolt at (619) 889-7121 or visit www.globeguilders.org/celebrating-couture-2016. The San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina is located at 333 W. Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101.

Van Vark commented, "I am honored and privileged to be Chair of the annual Couture Fashion Show and to help raise funds for The Old Globe."

As the Globe's volunteer auxiliary, the Globe Guilders have a long-standing tradition of supporting the diverse programs of this unique theatre, San Diego's largest performing arts institution, and its year-round programming on three stages and strong presence throughout San Diego's communities. This dedicated membership of women and men utilizes its collective talents and strengths to benefit The Old Globe's artistic and arts engagement programs. These include Behind-the-Scenes and Follow the Bard Tours, Community Voices, Free Student Matinee Series, Grinch Children's Initiatives, seminars and forums, program translations, Summer Shakespeare Studio, professional development for teachers, technical center internships and programs, and The Old Globe and University of San Diego Shiley Graduate Theatre Program.

Dick and Barbara Enberg both share a love of the arts. Dick, who once called sports broadcasting "a piece of theatre" and football "a four-act play," penned the one-man play McGuire, a tribute to the eccentric late basketball coach and commentator Al McGuire, his friend and former broadcast partner. Dick's career in drama began much earlier, though, when he appeared on the 1967 television series "The Felony Squad." He earned national fame on the show "Where's Huddles?" before his breakthrough role as the host of CBS's "Sports Challenge," eventually becoming a full-time sportscaster for NBC. He has also appeared on "The King of Queens" and in movies such as Rollerball, Heaven Can Wait, The Naked Gun, and Mr. 3000. Barbara, a prominent San Diego interior designer and owner of B.E. Designs, has a passion for music and currently serves on the Board of Directors for La Jolla Music Society. Dick and Barbara Enberg are longtime supporters of the Globe, having been season subscribers and Founder Circle patrons for nearly a decade.

Robert Foxworth, an Associate Artist of The Old Globe, first gained attention as a stage actor, making his Broadway debut in a 1969 production of Henry V. His first appearance at the Globe was playing Antony in 1987's Antony and Cleopatra alongside JoBeth Williams, before going on to star in Other Desert Cities, Inherit the Wind, August: Osage County, King Lear, Julius Caesar, Love Letters, and Below the Belt. Among his numerous movie and television roles, Bob is best known for his appearances on "Falcon Crest," "Six Feet Under," and "LateLine" with Al Franken, and he has guest starred in "Hawaii Five-O," "Murder She Wrote," the "Star Trek" franchise series, "The Outer Limits," and "Law & Order." He also voiced the autobot Ratchet in all Transformers films. His accolades include the Theatre World Award (for 1970's The Crucible at Lincoln Center Theater) and the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle's Outstanding Lead Performance in a play (for 2011's Superior Donuts at the San Diego Repertory Theatre). Bob also serves on The Old Globe's Board of Directors, and was previously an Artist in Residence at California State University San Marcos, teaching aspiring thespians acting technique. Stacey and Bob Foxworth met while he was doingBelow the Belt at the Globe and she was a legal secretary at a law firm in downtown San Diego. Stacey was a Beverly Hills real estate broker and investor before becoming a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) who worked with at-risk children and their continued education, foster children, and the court system for many years.
