Veteran Broadway star Christine Andreas will sing the role of Lilli Vanessi accompanied by the Silicon Valley Symphony for three concerts of Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate, from October 16-18 at the California Theatre in San Jose. Richard White will sing opposite Andreas, in the role of Fred/Petruchio.

Andreas burst onto the New York theater scene starring as Eliza Doolittle in the 20th anniversary production of My Fair Lady opposite the Royal Shakespeare Company's Ian Richardson and garnering the Theatre World Award.

Andreas received two Tony nominations re-creating the role of Laurey in Oklahoma! working with Billy Hammerstein and Agnes DeMilles, and as Frankie Frayne in On Your Toes, directed by the legendary George Abbott. Other Broadway credits include Words and Music with Sammy Cahn, Nancy in Angel Street with Dina Merrill, Rebecca in Rags, Alice in the short-lived Legs Diamond with the late Peter Allen, and the Broadway-bound and derailed Erte production of Stardust. Andreas created the role of Marguerite St. Just on Broadway in the original production of The Scarlet Pimpernel opposite Douglas Sills and Terrence Mann. Andreas received rapturous notices for her portrayal of Vera Simpson in the Prince Music Theater's production of Rodgers and Hart's Pal Joey in Philadelphia. Philadelphia rewarded her performance with a Barrymore Award for Best Actress in a Musical and a sold-out, three-week engagement of her one-woman show, Here's To The Ladies... Collaboration with Silvestri and writer Joel Higgins led to her West End debut starring in their musical The Fields of Ambrosia at the Aldwych Theatre in London followed by concerts in London, Paris, Rome, Australia and the White House.

Andreas recently completed a year long, 24-city tour of the United States starring as Margaret Johnson in the National Tour of The Light in the Piazza. She was honored with a Helen Hayes Award nomination as Best Actress for this portrayal at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
