The Fredericksburg Theater Company (FTC) is pleased to announce open enrollment for their summer youth program, Camp Freddyburg 2016. The camp runs July 5-31, with a two-day orientation session on June 28 and 29. The camp schedule and application can be found on FTC's Facebook page and website, www.fredericksburgtheater.org. Enrollment is limited and scholarships are available if needed. Along with Ms. Goff several other theater, music and dance instructors will teach classes. The deadline for early registration is June 27th.

Participants of the camp will star in the stage version of the Disney hit movie, Aladdin Jr. The production is part of FTC's 20th anniversary season and will have five performances onstage at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater. FTC's Youth and Education Director, Ashleigh Goff, will direct the production. The musical director for the production is Donna Vaughan. Aladdin Jr. opens Thursday, July 28th, at 1668 South US Hwy 87, Fredericksburg, TX, 78624. The production runs Thursday and Friday, July 28th and 29th, at 7:30 p.m., with two performances on Saturday, July 30th, at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., and a final show on Sunday, July 31st at 2:00 p.m.

"We are so excited to be part of this anniversary season", said Ms. Goff. "We believe in teaching kids to express themselves on stage by using their bodies through singing, dancing, and portraying a character as believably as possible."

For the third year in a row the Freddyburg production will be part of FTC's main stage season. FTC's Artistic Director Kerry Goff promises the theater will turn out a stellar production. "We are excited to have Freddyburg Youth Theater as part of our twentieth anniversary season", said Mr. Goff. "Audiences can expect to see the same high quality in this production that you see in all of FTC's shows. We will spare no creative expense. The sets, costumes, lighting and sound will all be of the standard you are accustomed to seeing."

Aladdin Jr. is the condensed live stage version of the current Broadway hit and the 1992 animated film from Disney Studios. The stage version features many popular songs from the film including "A Whole New World" and "Friend Like Me." The celebrated songwriters Howard Ashman, Alan Menken and Tim Rice composed these songs, as well as the score for the film.

Ashleigh Goff attended McMurry University where she majored in Theatre for a B.F.A. She has fifteen years experience teaching children and more than twenty years of theater experience, including directing the Freddyburg musicals Disney's The Jungle Book Kids and Annie Jr. For FTC she has directed Inspecting Carol, Blithe Spirit and The Miracle Worker. She was last seen onstage in Crimes of the Heart, Little Women, The Musical, The Foreigner and Little Shop of Horrors. She was also choreographer for the musicals Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver! Godspell, Honk!, Oklahoma! and LES MISERABLES.

Performances for Aladdin Jr. will be Thursday and Friday, July 28 and 29, at 7:30 p.m., with two performances on Saturday, July 31, at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for children 17 and under.
