Salt Lake Comic Con 2015 (http://saltlakecomiccon.com/) goes where no comic con has gone before as it kicks off its third annual Salt Lake Comic Con event. The Salt Lake City convention is expected to be the biggest and most successful event to date for Utah-based Dan Farr Productions.

Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes joined Dan Farr, Salt Lake Comic Con Founder and Producer, Bryan Brandenburg, Salt Lake Comic Con Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer, and a group of celebrity guests at a press conference to open Salt Lake Comic Con 2015.

"The Third Annual Salt Lake Comic Con has been so much fun to organize and we're confident that this one will be special. We say this every year, but we anticipate this convention will be our biggest and most successful," said Farr. "One of the coolest parts of organizing these shows is seeing how it's impacting the community, the local economy and how Utah is being recognized all over the world for its ability to host, support and put on a world class event. And I love the pride I see in our fans for helping us put Salt Lake Comic Con on the international map."

Salt Lake Comic Con 2015 will feature a number of fan favorite celebrities, including Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Jenna Coleman, Anthony Daniels, Ian Somerhalder, Felicia Day, Marina Sirtis, Oliver and James Phelps, John Barrowman, Sean Astin and Manu Bennett. In addition to the celebrity attendees, Salt Lake Comic Con will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as comic book characters, combined with a Superhero Run to raise money for the Specialty Hospital of Utah. Salt Lake Comic Con will attempt to break the record on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 6:00 pm. The current record is 1,530 and was set in China in 2011.

"We're on track for this to be our most successful event to date. We're the largest comic con in the world per capita, the third largest comic con in the country and the most attended convention in the history of the State of Utah," said Brandenburg. "Salt Lake Comic Con brings the glamour of Hollywood to Utah and has created a cultural phenomenon that helps celebrate heroes in our community and serves as a beacon of hope to the entire state and the communities in which we live, work and play. We promise astonishment, wonder and surprise this year."

This weekend, Salt Lake Comic Con expects to reach more than 5 million people in the Intermountain West via its social media channels.
