EttaGrace Black Theatre Company performs THE MEETING. THE MEETING, written by Jeff Stetson, depicts the supposed clandestine meeting between DR. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X, just after the burning of Malcolm X's home and one week before his assassination. In THE MEETING, the two men debate their varying approaches to the same grave social problems.

The cast of THE MEETING consists of Terence Johnson as DR. Martin Luther King Jr., Longzo Liggins as Malcolm X, and Harold E. DeHorney as Rashad (Malcolm X's bodyguard).

The production is directed by Melissa Adams and Produced by EttaGrace Black Theatre Company in conjunction with SLCC Grand Theatre's Institute. EttaGrace Black Theatre Company was founded by Melissa Adams and Toni Byrd, with an emphasis on producing African-American theatrical material which promotes awareness and deeper understanding of the black community's contribution to the cultural experience.

There will be five performances of the production at two different locations. THE MEETING will run January 12 and 15 at 7:30 (free to the public) at Utah Cultural Celebration Center. The center is located at 1355 West 3100 South. For more information, call 801-965-5100.
