June 28, 2013 introduced a new ballet theater program called "En Pointe». It's three stories told on pointe - Grand Pas from the ballet "Paquita», «Eventual Progress / irreversible progress" and "Variations Salieri".

"Paquita" belongs to the most beautiful ballets, to deprive the public of which academic theater just is not right. Grand Pas from the ballet "Paquita" adorns the repertoire of the leading theaters of the world, and now reappeared with us. As an example of the selected version of the St. Petersburg Imperial Theatre, which to this day are dancing at the famous Mariinsky Theatre. Reference will carry classic choreographer Vyacheslav Muhamedov.

Scenery for the play created Alona Pikalova, large scenic artist features that it has already demonstrated in our performances "conservatives" and "La Bayadere". As always, in tandem with it worked wizard costume from the Bolshoi Elena Zaitseva. Set design for the play-imperial magnificent!

Jonathan Watkins, yesterday soloist of the Royal Ballet, staged his first ballet in Russia. In luggage Jonathan Watkins already has several interesting works, including for Covent Garden. His choreography distinguishes expressive style. For his performances «Eventual Progress» he chose opus of modern English minimalist composer Michael Nyman, was widely known for his music for the films of Peter Greenaway. Jonathan obsessed put conceptual thing - his ballet will be deprived of the plot, but full of philosophy.

The third part of the future prime minister - a ballet entitled "Variations Salieri" - Vyacheslav Samodurov wrote: "This is my vision of what is going through a metamorphosis classical ballet today, in that it is transformed, as the tradition and that of the new finds." Explaining his plan, the choreographer said that his ballet, on the contrary, deprived of any special content and philosophy: "It's a beautiful dance, divertissement - and no subtext."

On the stage were the first performances and now should recognize the undoubted merit of this production: two of the three ballets - «Eventual Progress» and «Variations Salieri" were world premieres. These original works created for the theater troupe Ekaterinburg - and such an exclusive and lively choreography first hand - it is just that the most valued today in the world of ballet.
