Little Radical Theatrics Inc (Fatima Viegas, Executive Producer) proudly announces auditions for a special 20th Anniversary production of "RENT". This production will go up 20 years to the day of the original Broadway opening at the Grinton Will Library in Yonkers, NY; ten minutes from Jonathan Larson's childhood home in White Plains.
Directed by Michael J Mirra and Musical Direction by MaryAnn Ivan
Performances will take place April 29th-May 1st (4 performances) at the Joan R Pincus Theater in the Grinton Will Library 1500 Central Ave Yonkers, NY.
Auditions will be held February 15th and 16th 7-9 PM at ArtsWestchester 31 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains NY. All roles are open for ages 17+ (16 year olds may audition with parental permission). All ethniticites are strongly encouraged to audition. We strongly recommend that you make an audition appointment. We plan to see walk-ins as time permits but due to the interest and expected turnout that may not be possible. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, February 29th. Rehearsals typically run Monday-Thursday evenings 7-10 PM and Sundays 12-5 PM at ArtsWestchester 31 Mamaroneck Ave White Plains NY or at the Grinton Will Library. *this is a nonpaying production. We cannot offer a travel stipend but we do our best to organize carpools from Bronx subway stations (1,2,4 lines) so to lessen the cost of the metro-north for those commuting in from the city*.

Seeking-
Rodger: Male, 18-35, All Ethnicities, Rock & Roll grunge voice, like Eddie Vedder or Kurt Cobain. Leader of a rock band. He is able to project raw pain with charisma. Playing guitar a huge plus. Strong tenor.
Mark: Male, 18-35, Caucasian, baritone/second tenor. Underfunded, underground filmmaker, he has turned his back on his affluent upbringing. Likeable, if occasionally high-strung, he is almost the narrator of the show.
Collins: Male 25-40, Non-Caucasian, low baritone, bluesy, gravely voice. Philosopher, teacher, anarchist, AIDS activist. Sing a huge emotional gospel style ballad.
Mimi: non-Caucasian. to play 19. Raw rock & roll voice with a high belt. Sexy and of the streets, with some dark secrets. Fragile drug addict.
Angel: Male, 16-35, non-Caucasian. High tenor with falsetto. Actor must be willing to play drag. A fun guy with lots of style. Extremely warm, loveable and nurturing. Playing drums a plus.
Maureen: Female, 18-35, All Ethnicities,huge, versatile rock & roll sound. Sexy, funny, attractive and wild; a tacky Jersey girl turned East Village performance artist.
Benny: Male, 20-35, All Ethnicities, baritone/second tenor, can handle pop ballads. A striver, Slick and cocky, a smooth operator.
Joanne: Female, 25-35, non-Caucasian, great belt. Wry humor and sardonic wit, politically connected, a Harvard Graduate.
Ensemble: 16 with parental permission), to ply 17 to late 30s. Must be great pop/rock singers and actors to play various characters throughout the show, including homeless people on the Lower East Side and parents of Mark, Roger, Mimi, Joanne, etc. Seeking quirky, offbeat, interesting people of all types.
