The inspiration for the novel The English Lover was a courtroom report by Jean-Marc Théolleyre. It duly gave rise to the drama of the same name in which the silent madness of the seemingly uninteresting heroine leads to an inexplicable and unexplained crime. The National Theatre is giving the play its Czech premiere. The English Lover plays at the Kolowrat Theatre now through May 2010.

A great dramatic opportunity for detailed depiction of the psychological depths of the characters has been afforded to three stars of our drama ensemble - Katerina Burianová, Jirí Štepnika and Vladislav Beneš.
