Denise Jolly is the former Executive Director of Youth Speaks Seattle, co-host and facilitator of the Seattle Poetry Slam, Poetry Curator for The Round a live multidisciplinary collaborative arts show, Eleventh Hour Productions Board of Directors and Vice President of Stronghold Productions an organization that worked collaboratively to build large scale, fully sensory kinetic sculptures. In 2013 she ranked 5th in the Women of the World Poetry Slam, was the 2009 San Francisco Grand Slam Champion and member of the 2009 San Francisco Slam team who ranked 3rd in the nation. Denise has taught and performed at colleges, universities, community centers, public and private schools all over the United States. Working with student populations in elementary through college and beyond. She likes doing great things with amazing people and being moved by art, community and how the two work together.

Sonya Renee is easily one of the most distinguished, accomplished and recognizable females in the world of Performance Poetry and rightly so. After a meteoric rise to poetry superstardom in 2004, Sonya has redefined the role and impact of women in poetry slam since her whirlwind arrival on the scene, consistently ranking at the top of every major national and international poetry slam she has competed in.

Sonya's success can be attributed to her commitment to writing poetry that stays true to her roots as a humanitarian and social justice activist. The socially conscious wordsmith became the National Individual Poetry Slam Champion only 4 months into her slam career in ’04, and followed this amazing achievement with back to back top 8 finishes at the Individual World Poetry Slam Championship, a 2nd place finish at the International Poetry Slam Championship in 2005, and took the 1st place title at the Four Continents International Slam Championship in 2006. On stages in New Zealand, Australia, England, Scotland, Sweden, and the Netherlands, Sonya continues to put her socially conscious words into action; even performing in front of over 1 million spectators in Washington D.C. alongside Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton at the historic March for Women’s Lives. In addition to having her work appear in numerous journals and anthologies, she has just released her first collection of poetry entitled A Little Truth on Your Shirt published under GirlChild Press.
