Nilaja Sun is the author and star of NO CHILD, an off-broadway hit she now brings to Actors Theatre. NO CHILD is a fast-paced, one-woman show with plenty of laughs. It opened April 23rd and runs until May 8th.

Actors Theatre closes another ecclectic season with NO CHILD. Nilaja Sun wrote and stars in this one woman show which she first premiered Off-Broadway in 2006 to a six month, 170 performance run. Since then, she has performed the show all over the country to rave reviews. The Washington Post describes it as, "remarkable, often riotously funny." The San Francisco Chronicle calls it, "crisp, comic, and moving." And the New York Times says, "A marvelous performance...touching and funny."

Ms. Sun drew on 8 years experience as a teaching artist in New York City's public schools to craft this solo show which has her performing 16 characters in 70 minutes. She portrays teachers, students, parents, and even the janitor to name a few.

NO CHILD has piled up the awards as well. Among them are an Obie for Distinguished Performance, a Lucille Lortel for Best Solo Production, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best New American Play and Outstanding Solo Performance.

Actors Theatre scored big when they snagged the actress/writer for brief run at the Herberger Theater in downtown Phoenix. Don't miss this rare opportunity to see an award-winning author and role originator perform their own work.

NO CHILD runsto May 8. Box Office: 602.252.8497 or www.actorstheatrephx.org.
