WST for Kids to Present THE MONSTER WHO ATE MY PEAS, 5/31
WST for Kids' welcomes The Monster Who Ate My Peas on Saturday, May 31st. This deliciously delightful musical is sure to charm audiences of all ages as kids learn the joys of trying something new with performances at 10:30 am, 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm.
Audiences will meet Danny, a young boy, who hates "squishy, mushy green peas." The worst part of his day is the daily dinnertime dilemma, eating his peas! How far will Danny go to avoid eating those yucky vegetables? When a monster appears, it's time to make the big deal! Will Danny give up his soccer ball? His bike? How much is too much? In this monstrous musical, kids discover that they may just like the things they think they hate, if they just give it a try.
The Monster Who Ate My Peas is based on the multi award-winning book written by Danny Schnitzlein and illustrated by Matthew Faulkner. The new musical was adopted for the stage by Greg Gunning and Richard DeRosa.
The Walnut Street Theatre for Kids Series is celebrated for bringing families together through reading and the arts. Each season encourages children to first read the books with a grown up friend, then watch the stories come to life on-stage. Kids across the region put down their electronics and open their imagination. The Walnut takes pride in bridging the communication gap between parents (and grandparents!) and their kids.
The Monster Who Ate My Peas is produced by ArtsPower. ArtsPower National Touring Theatre is one of America's preeminent producers of professional theatre for young and family audiences.
