Paula Johns makes her Asbury Park debut, accompanied by her incredible trio. From the Queen of Jazz, to the Queen of Soul, Paula will take you on a musical journey in song from The Swing Era, to songs performed by Aretha Franklin and more. So come prepared to listen, reminisce, and dance!

Not only can Paula swing, she writes and arranges her own music, does impressions of various singers, a great actor and comedienne. Foremost, Paula is an accomplished cabaret singer and jazz vocalist. She has received numerous accolades from audiences in Philadelphia, Atlantic City, New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Her sassy and animated interpretations of great Broadway tunes and the standards from "The Great American Songbooks" have earned her the reputation of "Songbird". With a voice like butter, she manages to capture the era of the song while bringing it into the 21st century with her own unique style.
Paula Johns and her trio are know for their tributes to The Great "Girl Singers" of the Great American Songbook. Singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney, Nina Simone and Billie Holiday to name a few. Also, a special tribute to Aretha Franklin. Paula will share some "inside" information about the songs and the singers...and she really knows how to tell a story with the humor of Pearl Bailey, the sass of Sarah Vaughn, the elegance of Nancy Wilson, and the voice of an Angel.

Though often compared to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn, she does bring her own distinctive panache to each song she sings. Her passion for the music ignites the emotions of her audiences and allows them to feel and hear the story that each song tells.

"Paula really knows how to tell a story with the humor of Pearl Bailey, the sass of Sarah Vaughn, the elegance of Nancy Wilson and the voice of an angel!" -- Evelyn Simms
