Theatre Philadelphia to Announce 2017 Barrymore Award Nominees Next Week

Theatre Philadelphia, the non-profit organization that celebrates and promotes theatre in the greater Philadelphia region, will announce the 2017 nominees for its Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre, which includes cash awards of over $75,000 to artists and organizations.

Nominees will be read by members of the theatre community and arts philanthropists to a packed room of theatre professionals and supporters next Monday, August 21, 2017 at 4pm at The Drake Theatre, 302 S. Hicks Street, Philadelphia, PA. Enter near 15th and Spruce.

The Barrymore Awards began in 1995 and recognize excellence in professional theatre. The 2016-17 Season represents 107 productions across 39 professional companies. The Award Ceremony will take place on Monday, October 30 at the Merriam Theatre, with a Celebration to follow at University of the Arts' Hamilton Hall.
