There are very few full-bodied entertainment experiences more electric than a raucous, wondrous Worldtown SoundSystemstage show rife with the robust musicianship, sizzling vocals and infectious global rhythms that have made the Philadelphia dance music collective a city favorite.

The ultimate Worldtown SoundSystem live experience returns to the City of Brotherly Love in its grandest edition yet this summer, with theWORLDTOWN FESTIVAL: OLYMPIC EDITION, a FREE, all-day extravaganza, designed to celebrate and coincide with the opening weekend of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.

The day-long party, set for Saturday, Aug. 6, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Piazza at Schmidt's Commons in the stylish Northern Liberties part of town, not only features WTSS on the main stage ? performing music from Worldtown SoundSystem, their long-awaited, new debut EP featuring the hit single,"Testify," and more ? but a show roster with big-beat back-up from Host Chill Moody and co-headliners Tortured Soul (Brooklyn); renowned native-son DJCosmo Baker; jazz/hip-hop project Killiam Shakespeare; Worldtown DJs Ben Arsenal & Oluwafemi; DJ AptOne (aka) Michael The Lion; DJ Pat Richards, and transformational Vermont House band Electrolads.

Like 2014's inaugural Worldtown Festival ? which welcomed over 5,000 music and soccer fans ? this year's edition will again enable festival goers to simultaneously watch the Olympic Games throughout the day on the plaza's 40-foot-high LED Jumbotron, while they're moving to the music on stage. The Summer Olympics' first full day of sport will be screened on the Piazza's Jumbotron, and the fest will feature its own versions of sports-related activities and interactive games.

And that's not all. The Piazza also will be brimming with dozens of local vendors selling artisanal goods and fashion designs alongside everything from yoga, salsa and breakdance lessons. There also will be plenty of art on exhibit, carnival performers, face painters and street theater performances, plus specialty wares and food/beverage offerings that reflect the diverse culture and overall vivacity of Philadelphia, all in service to a key Worldtown credo: Peace, love, fun. Everywhere, everyone.

WORLDTOWN FESTIVAL: OLYMPIC EDITION, is once again being presented by Worldtown International, a local arts organization aimed at promoting fellowship through events, live music and cultural celebration, and Indie-Life Media, a non-traditional creative services agency working closely with Worldtown to help plan, organize and execute the festivities.

A portion of proceeds from the festival will benefit Philly Urban Creators, host of the "Worldtown Civic Engagement Area," which will feature a "seed-bomb" making workshop, a farmer's market, gardening workshops and more.

The Food Trust - a nationally recognized non-profit dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food and information to make healthy decisions ? will also participate in the Worldtown Civic Engagement Area with interactive smoothie-making bicycles and recipe workshops.
