Gamut Theatre Group will present its adaptation of Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband between on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. from tonight, November 1-23, 2014.

This classic may have been written over 100 years ago, but its themes of governmental corruption and insider trading resonate perhaps more today than when Oscar Wilde wrote the play. In this gender-bending production of an Oscar Wilde Classic, only four actors play all of the characters! Mixing quick wit with quick changes, this is a story about what people will do to get to the top of the Social and Professional ladder. In An Ideal Husband, Robert Chiltern, an ethical and respected government official, must suddenly confront a scandal from his past -one which launched his career and made him a rich and powerful man. Faced with blackmail over this incident, he now must decide whether or not to reveal the truth to the public, and also to his wife.
