1812 Productions is pleased to announce its 2014-2015 schedule of classes and comedy workshops. The 2014-2015 programs will include the return of the Funny Girl Bootcamp, as well as classes focused on comedy writing, improvisation, and character development. Space is limited for all workshops. Students may register through www.1812productions.org or at 215-592-9560.

We begin with the popular weekend intensive, Funny Girl: A Comedy Bootcamp Weekend for Women. Students will explore acting and improv comedy in order to discover their own brand of humor, and what makes them uniquely funny. No experience is necessary. Instructors include 1812 Productions' Producing Artistic Director, Jennifer Childs, and ComedySportz veteran, Mary Carpenter. Funny Girl: A Comedy Bootcamp Weekend for Women will take place from Friday, September 19th through Sunday, September 21st. Funny Girl will be held at 1812 Productions' rehearsal studio, 2329 S. 3rd Street. Tuition is $180 and includes a ticket to the Friday, September 19th performance of Intimate Exchanges, playing now at The Arcadia Stage at Arden Theatre Comapny, 40 N. 2nd Street.

We continue in October with the Advanced Funny Girl Bootcamp. Delving further into skills introduced in Funny Girl: A Comedy Bootcamp Weekend for Women, this Advanced Funny Girl Bootcamp will continue to explore storytelling, improvisation, and character work in a unique weekend of comedic play and experimentation. Led by 1812 Productions' Producing Artistic Director, Jennifer Childs, and others, this workshop is a great opportunity to continue to nurture your inner Funny Girl while interacting with other past Bootcamp participants. Participation in Funny Girl: A Comedy Bootcamp Weekend for Women is a prerequisite for taking part in this workshop. Advanced Funny Girl Bootcamp will take place from Friday, October 17th through Sunday, October 19th at 1812 Productions' rehearsal studio, located at 2329 S. 3rd Street. Tuition is $180 for the weekend.

In association with our annual political satire, This Is The Week That Is, 1812 Productions will present the This Is The Week That Is Writer's Workshop. Students will work with the show's creator, Jennifer Childs, and the show's head news writer, Don Montrey, along with other ensemble members, on preparing that evening's performance. Discussing the news of the day, participants will experience the hands-on creation of original satire, and even have a chance to have their jokes included in the show. This Is The Week That Is Writer's Workshop will take place on Saturday, December 6th from 12pm-6pm at Plays & Players Theatre, 1714 Delancey Street. Tuition for the day is $100, which includes a ticket to the Saturday, December 6th, 8pm performance of This Is The Week That Is, also at Plays & Players Theatre.

In conjunction with the holiday improvisation event Improvukkah: Improv for the Holidays, 1812 Productions will offer an Improv Workshop with some of 1812's-and Philadelphia's-sharpest and most experienced improvisational minds. In this three-hour workshop led by ComedySportz' Artistic Director, and 1812 favorite, Dave Jadico, students will explore basic improvisation skills including spontaneity, active listening, risk-taking, and, most importantly, having fun. All skill levels are welcome. The Improv Workshop will take place on Saturday, December 13th from 1pm-4pm at 1812 Productions' rehearsal studio, 2329 S 3rd Street. Tuition for the day is $75 and will include a ticket to Improvukkah: Improv for the Holidays, playing at Plays & Players Theatre, 1714 Delancey Street.

In Spring of 2015, 1812 Productions will present a workshop based on beloved This Is The Week That Is character, Patsy. In the "Find Your Patsy" Character Development Workshop, 1812 Productions' Producing Artistic Director, Jennifer Childs, will work with students on character development through skills such as improvisation, storytelling, creating physical and verbal characteristics, and finding a point-of-view. The "Find Your Patsy" Character Development Workshop will take place on Saturday, February 28th from 11am-5pm at 1812 Productions' rehearsal studio, 2329 S 3rd Street. Tuition is $100 and includes a ticket to any performance of 1812 Productions' upcoming Bingo Night with Patsy!, playing from March 4th-8th, 2015 at Christ Church Neighborhood House, 20 N. American Street.
