The fascinating history behind Shakespeare's greatest plays continues with a third series of Shakespeare Uncovered, premiering Fridays, October 12-26 on PBS (check local listings) and streaming the following day at pbs.org/shakespeareuncovered and on PBS apps. The ambitious series concludes with celebrated new hosts Helen Hunt, F. Murray Abraham, Romola Garai, Brian Cox, Simon Russell Beale and Sir Antony Sher, who seamlessly weave their personal passions with history, biography, iconic performances and new analysis to tell the stories behind the stories of Shakespeare's famous works. The final season investigates “Much Ado About Nothing,” “The Merchant of Venice,” “Measure for Measure,” “Julius Caesar,” “The Winter's Tale” and “Richard III.”

Katrina Lindsay has won the 2018 Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Play for HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD, PARTS ONE AND TWO.

'Bart [Sher] and I spoke a long time about this character. I think the key to him is that he is passionate and obsessive about the work and his job. What's he's not good at is emotions- understanding other people's emotions and understanding his own emotions,' says Harry Hadden-Paton. 'The joy of an being an actor is taking someone on a journey. Now I'm digging my heals and making him cruel, patronizing and self-obsessed, then taking him on a journey of self-discovery that has come about through [Eliza].' 

The Young Vic's highly praised West End production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof will be broadcast to cinemas around the world on 22 February 2018, marking the fourth collaboration between The Young Vic and National Theatre Live. Watch a trailer for the broadcast below!

Theatre Royal Stratford East's new season opens with Counting Stars by award-winning playwright and newly appointed Writer in Residence Atiha Sen Gupta. The stage will be transformed into a studio format nightclub installation where you sit on the stage for this funny yet heart-breaking tale directed by Associate Director, Pooja Ghai. The cast is set for the Young Vic Production of Arthur Miller's "A View From the Bridge" produced by Center Theatre Group at the Ahmanson Theatre. Directed by Ivo van Hove, "A View From the Bridge" will begin previews on September 7, with the opening set for September 14, 2016. Performances continue through October 16. The cast includes, in alphabetical order, Danny Binstock, Catherine Combs, Alex Esola, Andrus Nichols, Howard W. Overshown, Dave Register, Thomas Jay Ryan and Frederick Weller. The scenic and lighting design is by Jan Versweyveld, costumes are by An D'Huys and sound is by Tom Gibbons. The production stage manager is David S. Multi award-winning artists 59 Productions, the team behind the video design of the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games, have joined forces with the BBC Proms and internationally acclaimed cellist, Sol Gabetta, to create a brand new film, 'Cello', to celebrate the 2016 BBC Proms season. The film, and a 'making of' video, will be featured on the BBC Proms website and BBC iPlayer as well as shared widely on social media platforms.

Young Vic has released a short film honoring legendary director Peter Brook with a star-studded cast, including Ian McKellen, Natalie Dormer, Jude Law, David Lan, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Rory Kinnear, Marcello Magni, Sinead Matthews, Hugh Skinner, Noma Dumezweni, and Peter Brook himself.

The Young Vic's critically-acclaimed production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge, directed by Ivo van Hove, opened just last night, November 12, at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). The production, which swept the 2015 Olivier Awards -- winning for Best Revival, Best Director, and Best Actor (Mark Strong), will play an 18-week limited engagement through Sunday, February 21, 2016. Full casting has today been announced for the West End run of the Royal Court Theatre's production of Hangmen. ProducersRobert Fox, Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions and Royal Court Theatre Productions are delighted to announce that Andy Nyman will play Syd, Craig Parkinson will take on the role of Inspector Fry and Tony Hirst will play Bill, completing the cast of the West End production.
