Lincoln Center Theater in association with Jujamcyn Theaters will soon present its new Broadway production of the William Finn-James Lapine Tony Award-winning musical Falsettos, which begins previews tomorrow, September 29 at 8pm at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48 Street). Opening night for Falsettos opens Thursday, October 27.

Today in 2007, The Pirate Queen opened at the Hilton Theatre (now the FoxwoodsTheatre), where it ran for 85 performances. The Pirate Queen is a musical written by Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, best known for their adaptation of Les Miserables. It is based on the life and adventures of the 16th century Irish chieftain and pirate Grainne O'Malley, who was one of the last Irish clan leaders to resist the English conquest of Gaelic Ireland. The cast featured Stephanie J. Block as the title character and Linda Balgord, who was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her performance as Queen Elizabeth I.

Just last week, the New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, presented an evening full of holiday cheer at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage with help from Tony award nominees Stephanie J. Earlier this month, Broadway stars Stephanie J. Block and Aaron Lazar performed in 'A Cabaret Evening' at 54 Below (254 West 54th Street). The evening was a joint benefit in support of The New York Pops PopsEd Programs and Ronald McDonald House New York. The two organizations partner to provide music education programs that serve as creative outlets for the children and families in residence.
