Get a first look at the new Broadway musical The Heart of Rock and Roll, as new photos and video have been released ahead of the show's April 22nd Opening Night.

McKenzie Kurtz appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Kimmel to perform 'It Hit Me Like A Hammer' from The Heart of Rock & Roll. Kimmel sat down with Huey Lewis to discuss how the musical is 'significantly' different from it's pre-Broadway run. The televised Broadway performance is a rarity for Kimmel's LA-based talk show. Kinky Boots released a sneak peek into their rehearsal room as they prepare to return to the stage beginning on July 26th at off-Broadway’s Stage 42. The video features a behind the scenes look as the company prepares to put the boots on once again, as well as interviews with select company members about the show’s impact and the journey of bringing the uplifting story back to NYC.   

On Friday, May 25, Amazon will premiere all six episodes of original mystery drama series Picnic at Hanging Rock, starring Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2), on Prime Video in the US. Based on Joan Lindsay's iconic Australian novel of the same name, Picnic at Hanging Rock is a limited series surrounding the mysterious disappearances of three schoolgirls and one teacher on Valentine's Day in 1900. The series revolves around the subsequent investigation and the event's far-reaching impact on the students, families and staff at Appleyard College, and on the nearby township. The series has already received critical acclaim following its recent premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival and has been selected for the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival this month.

San Diego Musical Theatre (SDMT) presents the complete cast and creative team for the San Diego Regional Premiere of First Date. This musical comedy includes music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, with a book by Austin Winsberg. First Date marks the opening of SDMT's 2017 Off Broadway Series and features direction by J. Scott Lapp, music direction by Jon Lorenz, and choreography by Allison Spratt Pearce. Performances run from March 31 - May 7, 2017 at the Horton Grand Theatre. 

Presented by The Barn Stage Company, Cabaret at The Merc's Summer Series ends in September with the Tony Award-winning musical sensation, SPRING AWAKENING. The show runs Thursday-Sunday for two weekends at The Truax Building in Old Town Temecula. This production returns to Temecula after a sold-out run last summer at The Mercantile Building in Old Town.
