This year's awards ceremony is hosted by Zachary Levi who is currently starring in Roundabout Theatre Company's She Loves Me on Broadway. He was nominated for a 2016 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his portrayal of Georg.

The eighth annual National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA)/JIMMY AWARDS will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. 62 high school students from across America will compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress. This year, for the first time ever, the pre-event red carpet and the awards presentation will be streamed live on Facebook.

The fourth year of Denver's Bobby G Awards brought a new couple of thespians to the forefront of Denver's high school musical theatre scene. They'll be making their Broadway debut in just a few days at the National High School Musical Theatre (The Jimmy) Awards at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. The six coaches -- GAVIN CREEL, EDEN ESPINOSA, JOSE LLANA, MICHAEL MCELROY, HOWARD MCGILLIN and KAREN OLIVO will mentor the sixty-two high school students from across America as they compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress. The two-hour talent showcase will feature dynamic ensemble and solo performances and will be hosted by 2016 Tony Award nominee ZACHARY LEVI, currently starring in Roundabout Theatre Company's She Loves Me on Broadway.

 How has my life changed since the night of the Bobby G Awards ceremony? My life has been surreal. I still don't believe I won. Walking around town is a mess of congratulations and word has spread through a front-page newspaper story in my hometown of Durango. It's an indescribable feeling when someone you don't know congratulates you on the street for winning this award. It's also been a mad dash preparing material and forms and packing for a theatre camp to then leave right away for New York.

On June 20th, Broadway's Cinderella, Tony nominee Laura Osnes and music director Benjamin Rauhala hosted the third installment of THE BROADWAY PRINCESS PARTY at Feinstein's/54 Below, featuring Adrienne Warren, Taylor Louderman, Zachary Levi, Jeremy Jordan, and and over a dozen more princesses and special guests. The Broadway League, the national trade organization for the commercial theatre industry, announces the 2016 League Educator Apple Award recipients. Now in its fourteenth year, the awards acknowledge the efforts of local teachers and advocates who support programs relating to Broadway or Touring Broadway shows, promoting further development of theatre education.
