Charles Busch will return to Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Executive Artistic Director) this spring with his new comedy Charles Busch's CLEOPATRA for a limited premiere showcase engagement at Theater for the New City'sCommunity Theater (155 First Avenue). The premiere production, directed by Busch's longtime collaborator Carl Andress (The Tribute Artist, Judith of Bethulia, The Divine Sister) will play a limited engagement of 22 performances fromFriday, March 25 through April 17, 2016.

The world premiere of No Man is an Island is January 23 and 24, 2016 at the Gelsey Kirkland Arts Center in Dumbo, NYC. This newly renovated theater, formerly St. Ann's Warehouse, seats 300. Choreographer and founder, Yoshito Sakuraba is no stranger to creating evening-length work. His first full-length piece was performed to sold out audiences at Manhattan Movement and Arts center in 2013.

Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Doug Wright (I AM MY OWN WIFE, GREY GARDENS) joined in the immediate standing ovation for star Vince Gatton on opening night of Amy Corcoran's site-specific staging of I AM MY OWN WIFE for Two Turns Theatre Company at RePOP, a vintage and oddity show space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Celebrating their 50th show, The John W. Engeman Theatre of Northport has mounted a truly exquisite production of the iconic Tony winning musical West Side Story. The tale, of course, centers on Maria and Tony in a modern day – 1957 modern day - Romeo and Juliet situation. Tony and his friends have formed The Jets, though when we meet Tony, he has since left the gang, while their arch enemies, The Sharks, is headed up by Maria's brother, Bernardo portrayed by Nikko Kimzin. Maria and Tony meet at a school dance and fall in love - forbidden in their worlds.

Two Turns Theatre Company will present an intimate and freshly interpreted production of Doug Wright's Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning play, I Am My Own Wife, about the infamous German transvestite Charlotte von Mahlsdorf. Directed by Amy Corcoran and starring Drama Desk nominee Vince Gatton, the play will be performed in and among the furniture, art, clothing and taxidermy of RePOP (143 Roebling St., Brooklyn, NY 11211), Williamsburg's noted vintage shop. Performances begin tonight, September 23 and will run through October 4. I Am My Own Wife will perform Todays through Sundays at 7:30 p.m.

22Q Entertainment, has announced that Academy Award Nominee & Golden Globe Winner Kathleen Turner will be stepping in as director of the world premiere Off Broadway production WOULD YOU STILL LOVE ME IF… a love story that tackles the issue of gender identity. The production will also shift gears as Grammy Nominated Singer Deborah Cox has had to step down from her role due to increasing conflicts with the play's October performance schedule. Roya Shanks will take over the role for Ms. Cox and previews will begin on Saturday, September 26th at New World Stages. The official opening is set for Saturday, October 10th.
