Rhode Island College's Artist-in-Residence, pianist Judith Lynn Stillman and The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra principal members Ian Greitzer, Charles Dimmick, Abigail Cross and Aristides Rivas will perform works by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven on November 5 at 8:00pm at the Carter Center for Music, Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School in East Providence.

On March 18, 2017, the Colburn School will honor alumna Anne Akiko Meyers at Taste of Colburn, an annual benefit event held on the school's Grand Avenue campus to support scholarship funds for the Colburn Community School of Performing Arts. Ms. Meyers will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award. In recognition of their philanthropy and contributions to the Colburn School community, Alice and Joe Coulombe will be recognized as civic honorees.

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) announces the return of Portuguese-Mozambican artist, Mariza, the living voice of fado on Today, November 2, 2016 at 8pm in theChan Shun Concert Hall. Mariza will share contemporary fado from her bold new album Mundo, a vibrant musical travelogue that journeys from Cape Verde to Spain, and from Argentina to Portugal.

The Chicago Humanities Festival is moving full speed ahead towards the 27th annual Fallfest, releasing its full line-up of events. After four successful Enthusiastic Events!, The Dance Enthusiast is thrilled to announce the 5th Enthusiastic Events! event:  Dance: Island to Island-Moving Caribbean in New York City, Wednesday November 16, 6:15 PM to 9 (nibblies before and after; performance at 7 PM) at Gibney Dance, 280 Broadway (entrance at 53A Chambers Street).   Enthusiastic Events! is proud to partner with PANK Elephant Catering, who will be providing tasty delicacies from all over the Caribbean chain.   The event follows four successful previous Enthusiastic Events! in which The Dance Enthusiast celebrated the relationship of dance to other important fields: the world of design and fashion, the world of empowing thought and action, the world of visual art and, most recently, the landscape of dance on Broadway versus concert dance versus Reality TV.
