Strengthening its role as a center for artist research and development, Jacob's Pillow Dance announces an active, year-round season with its expanded 2016-2017 Creative Development Residency program. This season brings new additions to the program including two technical residencies, cross-genre collaborations, and invited audiences of college students, as well as a diverse roster of 10 artist residencies, the Pillow's largest residency season yet.

The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami and the National YoungArts Foundation are proud to present ICA Performs: Michael Clark Company, the Miami debut of Great Britain's renowned dance company. Hailed as "British dance's true iconoclast," Clark and his distinctive choreography combine technical rigor and experimentation through interpretations of ballet, punk, Dada, pop and rock. In October 2016, Michael Clark Company began a month-long artist residency with ICA Miami on the YoungArts Campus that will culminate in five public presentations. The debut public performance will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 7:30pm in the YoungArts Jewel Box.

Alphonso Horne, the two-time GRAMMY nominee and trumpeter named by Wynton Marsalis as one of the rising stars of next jazz generation, and vocalist Candice Hoyes, the internationally acclaimed classical and jazz recording artist, share a palpable chemistry that inspires them to push musical boundaries.

On November 5, 2016, the National YoungArts Foundation will premiere five collaborative short films created by YoungArts alumni as the season's first Outside the Box event, which takes place outdoors and is free to the public.

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) announces the hotly anticipated return of Diego El Cigala, charming vocalist and three-time Latin GRAMMY winner, Sunday, November 20, 2016 at7pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. The Kennedy Center announced today the roster of artists who will be participating in Jimmy Heath at 90, a concert honoring the 90th birthday of the legendary saxophonist, composer, educator, and bandleader. Weill Hall at Sonoma State University's Green Music Center (GMC) announces plans for the 2016-17 Fifth Anniversary Season Opening Weekend. The opening night performance Today, October 1, at 7:00 p.m., features the unparalleled kings of Jazz, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. A Gala Dinner will be held at Prelude Restaurant and Patio following the concert, with cuisine provided by Stark & Co. Catering.

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) will offer New Yorkers a preview performance of excerpts from a new opera based on the classic story and Frank Capra film It's a Wonderful Life on Sunday, November 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Guggenheim Museum, as part of the museum's Works & Process program. Blue Note Napa, opening Tuesday, October 25 with GRAMMY winning jazz trumpeter Chris Botti at the historic Napa Valley Opera House in downtown Napa, has announced its culinary team for the first West Coast outpost of the legendary jazz club. Chef Christophe Gerard has been named Blue Note Napa's executive chef, bringing an elegant, yet comfortable and approachable California provencal-style to the Blue Note Napa menu, and Dylan Torcoletti has been hired as General Manager.
