Camille A. Brown Launches New BLACK GIRL SPECTRUM Community Initiative

Camille A. Brown & Dancers (CAB&D), recognized for its visceral movement and unflinching approach to comedic and controversial themes, announces Black Girl Spectrum, a multi-faceted community engagement initiative. The new yearlong initiative, lead by Bessie-nominated choreographer Camille A. Brown, uses dance as a means to address civic, educational, and economic struggle through cultural and creative empowerment. Aimed to explore the spectrum of identities among African American females, the initiative will also serve as participatory research to mold and inform Brown's new work-in-progress, Black Girl (working title), which is slated to premiere in September 2015.

All-new wedding specials. Joining Friday BrideDay, BRIDE BY DESIGN (working title) and CURVY BRIDES will offer viewers a whole new look into every bride's search for her perfect wedding gown. In BRIDE BY DESIGN (wt), Alabama-based bridal designer Heidi Elnora thinks every bride is one of a kind, and should have a custom gown to match. Heidi has made it her mission to help women turn the wedding dress of their dreams into reality. And in CURVY BRIDES, the savvy Harris sisters own a unique bridal salon where curvy brides experience their dream of finding the perfect wedding dress. This Maryland-based boutique shows viewers how the ideal gown can come in all shapes and sizes. BRIDE BY DESIGN (wt) premiered Friday, July 25 at 10 PM (ET/PT) followed by CURVY BRIDES tonight, August 1 at 10 PM (ET/PT) on TLC.

HERE announces its 2014-2015 producing season, commencing Labor Day Weekend with the premiere of the Artistic Director production, Trade Practices, by Kristin Marting & David Evans Morris; and followed by the HERE Resident Artist productions Send for the Million Men by Joseph Silvosky and Bloowst windku by Rebecca Davis. HERE's upcoming season also includes the third annual PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/ Now festival and HERE's yearly CULTUREMART festival, which gives audiences a first look at new work in process from artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP). The multidisciplinary productions in HERE's 2014-2015 season represent the culmination of commissions and developmental residencies of up to three years through HARP, and/or the Dream Music Puppetry Program.

On Sunday 28 September, Liam Mower will join the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical for a special performance to be broadcast live from the Victoria Palace Theatre to cinemas across the UK and around the world. Mower, who will play the role of Older Billy, originated the role of Billy Elliot in 2005 along with George Maguire and James Lomas, and was the first boy ever to play the role on stage.
