WICKED Announces Patty Duke to Play Madame Morrible 3/24

The producers of the smash hit musical WICKED announced today that Academy Award-winning actress Patty Duke will play the role of ?Madame Morrible' beginning March 24th. Carol Kane, who currently stars as ?Madame Morrible', had always been scheduled for a limited engagement of the opening eight weeks of WICKED's return home to San Francisco. She will give her final performance at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco on Mach 22nd. In addition to the new casting in March, a new block of tickets will be made available beginning March 15th for the open-ended engagement of WICKED.

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that TV, film and Broadway star Patty Duke will be joining the company of WICKED San Francisco, replacing Carole Kane as Madame Morrible after her final show on March 22. Kane was only in San Francisco on an 8 week contract.

Beginning performances Tuesday, March 17, Tony Award-winner RONDI REED will join the Broadway company of the hit musical WICKED in the role of Madame Morrible. Ms. Reed was the original Morrible in the Chicago production of WICKED and returned to the role in Chicago after winning the Tony Award for August: Osage County. She joins a cast which includes Nicole Parker as Elphaba, Alli Mauzey as Glinda, P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard, Kevin Kern as Fiyero, Alex Brightman as Boq, Cristy Candler as Nessarose, and Timothy Britten Parker as Dr. Dillamond.

The Producers of the worldwide smash WICKED announced casting for the 2nd North American Tour today. The role of Elphaba will be played by Marcie Dodd and the role of Glinda will be played by Helene Yorke. Playing the role of Madame Morrible will be Marilyn Caskey and The Wizard will be played by Tom McGowan.

Lottery tickets are available for every performance of WICKED beginning Tuesday, January 27 through Saturday, June 27. Each day, 2? hours prior to curtain, ticket buyers can arrive at the Orpheum Theatre box office to have their names placed in the WICKED lottery barrel where thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for these seats. WICKED Closes Successful Chicago Run 1/25

WICKED will take its final bow in Chicago on January 25, 2009. WICKED has helped Broadway In Chicago stand as the fifth most popular tourist attraction in the City of Chicago and has spurred interest in theatre both locally and nationally. When surveyed, over 70 percent of the WICKED theatre patrons said that they had plans to see another show in Chicago within the year. Called 'Broadway's biggest blockbuster' by The New York Times and 'a cultural phenomenon' by Variety, WICKED continues to cast a spell on all of Chicagoland and its many visitors - over 2.9 million people have attended WICKED in Chicago with audience members representing all 50 U.S. states and all seven continents. WICKED is now the longest running Broadway musical in Chicago's theater history. The Chicago company of WICKED took the stage on June 24, 2005 at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre.
