The Jewish Museum is presenting fun-filled family activities on Mondays in July inspired by the colorful worlds of artists Jack Goldstein and Barbara Bloom. Highlights include gallery tours with art activities beginning today, July 8 and continuing July 15, 22 and 29; and a drop-in art workshop every Monday in July. These programs are FREE with museum admission.

The 43rd annual CAPA Summer Movie Series at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) begins June 28, featuring 27 films over eight weeks. The series opens with Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief (June 28-30) starring Cary Grant as the reformed cat burglar searching for a copycat thief while romancing Grace Kelly who is vacationing in the sunny French Riviera.
NEWSIES to Play the Piccadilly or Savoy in Spring 2014?

According to rumors and other reports by whatsonstage.com, producers of Disney's NEWSIES may be getting closer to finding a home in the West End late 2013 or early 2014. According to reporst, Disney is 'trying to secure either the Piccadilly or the Savoy theatres' for Spring 2014. A venue may be announced as early as next week.

Today, April 1, is the next holiday in the popular series of Met Holidays Mondays-extra public viewing days at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Cloisters museum and gardens, which historically have been closed on Mondays. For many schools, April 1 coincided with spring break.

Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, Newsies is directed by Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, who won a 2012 Tony Award for his work. Elizabeth Mitchell and You Are My Flower is performing a folk rock concert for families on Sunday, April 21 at 2:00 pm at The Jewish Museum. Mitchell, a singer and guitarist known for reinterpreting classic folk songs for children and their parents, will be joined by her husband, singer/guitarist Daniel Littleton, and their eleven year old daughter Storey. Concert attendees can enjoy cherished folk classics and soulful originals from the albums Catch the Moon and Blue Clouds.
