The Broadway at Birdland concert series was presented the 2012 BroadwayWorld Best Male Vocalist winner William Blake in concert on Monday, July 22nd at 7pm. It was Blake's sixth concert at the historic venue. Tony winners and Birdland regulars Chita Rivera and Steve Kazee were both in the house to cheer! Scroll down for photos from the concert!

Ron Bohmer, star of Broadway's A Little Night Music, Ragtime, The Phantom of the Opera, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Woman in White and Les Miserables, has joined the lineup for The Pop Show Presents...Billy Joel! on Monday, July 29 at Birdland Jazz Club. Also joining the lineup is Christian Macchio, lead vocalist of the Long Island-based band Captain Jack.

The Major League Baseball All-Star break (the game is on Tuesday night) has always been considered the midpoint of the season and as a lifelong fan I've always enjoyed reading those analyses from writers that assess the best performances of the first half. Since July is also the middle of the calendar year, I thought it might be fun to present a cabaret equivalent of a baseball midseason report. So . . . J. Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the roster for Lincoln Center's fourth multidisciplinary White Light Festival, October 24 through November 23, 2013. The Festival's focus is music's capacity to illuminate the many dimensions of our interior lives, with a particular emphasis this year on the power of the voice. Spanning numerous musical traditions, genres, and disciplines, the Festival will offer 23 performances, films, and events featuring seven premieres and debuts by artists and companies from more than a dozen countries, including France, India, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, the U.K., Mali, Estonia, Italy, Austria, Canada and the U.S. New to this edition of the Festival is White Light on Film, film screenings followed by discussions with their directors. Other Festival components include: a panel discussion focused on the subject of time, pre- and post-performance artist discussions, and the popular post-performance White Light Lounges.

If you went to college, and took a course in poetry, you'll find yourself morphing back and wishing that your professors had had a romp in the grass, and expressed themselves with such absurd hysterical language, as the duo in THERE IS A HAPPINESS THAT MORNING IS, which is getting a fine production at CPT.
