La MaMa E.T.C. and Watson Arts will present the World Premiere of COMING, APHRODITE! beginning February 20th. This new musical adaptation of a novella by Willa Cather is written and directed by Mary Fulham with lyrics by FringeNYC Overall Excellence Award winner Paul Foglino (Hercules in High Suburbia), and music written by Mark Ettinger. Opening night is slated for Thursday, February 26. COMING, APHRODITE! is a love story about a man, a woman, and a dog that explores the pursuit of art and the nature of success. A painter, Don Hedger and his dog, Caesar, live in a one-room apartment. Their daily life is upended when Eden Bower, an aspiring actress who likes to sing show tunes and exercise in the nude, moves in next door.

Rubicon Theatre Company presents 'My Antonia,' the stage adaptation of Pulitzer Prize-winner Willa Cather's classic novel by Stephen and Scott Schwartz.

The ASCAP Foundation announced that four new musical works have been selected for presentation at the 13th Annual ASCAP Foundation/Disney Musical Theatre Workshop in Los Angeles.

Rubicon Theatre Company's 10th Anniversary Season has been cloaked in secrecy, with the company planning a private preview event in May to announce next year's offerings. However, earlier this week company officials named two of the productions, which will be a part of the just-announced Southern California Festival of New American Musicals.

Some of musical theatre's most acclaimed voices will take part in the inaugural Festival of New American Musicals, which will take place in Los Angeles in May and June 2008.

Complete casting was announced today for the upcoming Broadway production of LENNON, the world premiere musical based on the life and songs of John Lennon. The cast includes Will Chase, Chuck Cooper, Julie Danao, Mandy Gonzalez, Marcy Harriell, Chad Kimball, Terrence Mann, Julia Murney, and Michael Potts.

Based on the life and songs of John Lennon, the new tuner is slated for its Broadway debut at the Broadhurst Theatre, Summer 2005.
