The battle between saying 'yes' and 'no,' wages a magical war when spoken by a princess.,First Stage's World Premiere Ella Enchanted arrived at the Todd Wehr Theater this past weekend based on Gail Carson Levine's popular award winning novel. Company Associate Artistic Director John Maclay fill this turned on end adaptation of 'Cinderella'  with joy through the book/lyrics written by Karen Zacarias and her musical collaborator Deborah Wicks LaPuma. This fabulous artistic team complements equally fantastic double young performer casts. On opening night, Alison Pogerelc, Grace Becker, Elizabeth Robbins and Max Pink completely enchant the audience.

NBCUniversal Hispanic Group announced today, “Movimiento” a social-first movement based on CultureFirst– a first-of-its-kind report on U.S. Latinos from NBCUniversal's consumer insights practice, The Curve Report, in collaboration with Telemundo – research findings exposing the next generation of multicultural storytellers, artists, filmmakers, social media stars and more. With a focus on key Latino passion points: music, movies, food, style, comedy and sports. The first project of the initiative will be “Movimiento Música,” a social video series with multi-platform extensions dedicated to aligning emerging artists and their content with forward-thinking brands.

WaterTower Theatre to Host 2nd Annual Women in Theatre Series

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced details for the second annual WOMEN IN THEATRE series. The event is presented under the auspices of Women of WaterTower Theatre (WOW!) and it is co-chaired by Karol Omlor and Andrea Redmon. This is the second lecture in the series (the first was held last year and featured female directors), and it will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm (with a post-lecture reception in the lobby with the artists). The event will be held in the Main Space at WaterTower Theatre. The lecture will be moderated by the Dallas Observer's Arts and Culture Editor Lauren Smart, and features Pam Dougherty, Jenny Ledel, Denise Lee, Sarah Elizabeth Smith and Wendy Welch.
