The annual Tony® Awards ceremony celebrating "Broadway's best" arrives on June 8, and THEATER TALK, in its time-honored tradition, reconvenes its opinionated panel of journalist-critics Jesse Green (New York Magazine), entertainment columnist Michael Musto (Out.com), and Patrick Pacheco (The Los Angeles Times) to share their instincts and insights about this year's nominations and who will win. Tony Predictions 2014, co-hosted by Michael Riedel of the New York Post and Susan Haskins, premieres Friday, May 23 (2014) at 1 AM (Saturday morning) on Thirteen/PBS, and repeats in the New York metro area on CUNY TV* Saturday 5/24 at 8:30 PM, Sunday 5/25 at 12:30 PM, and Monday 5/26 at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:30 PM.

The Flea to Present Stephen Lang in BEYOND GLORY, 6/5-6

The Flea Theater has announced Stephen Lang's BEYOND GLORY. Lang brings the stories of eight Medal of Honor recipients to the stage in this exciting one-man show adapted from Larry Smith's bestselling book, Beyond Glory. As a tribute to fallen soldiers, Lang has performed the show on military bases and on the floor of Congress as well as on Broadway. In the fall of 2013 filming began on a documentary Beyond Glory: Tour of Duty, following Lang as he toured the show throughout the Heartland and to the front lines in Afghanistan and the Middle East. Now he brings the show and the film crew to The Flea, in order to document the play in its entirety.

The 59th Annual Village Voice Obie Awards, celebrating achievement in the Off-Broadway and off-off Broadway theater, were given out at a ceremony last night at Webster Hall in Greenwich Village. The awards ceremony was co-hosted by Tamara Tunie and Hamish Linklater. The awards were presented by Betsy Aidem, Harvey Fierstein, Lena Hall, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Andy Karl, David Bar Katz, Cristin Milioti, Kelli O'Hara, Lily Rabe and Stephen Trask. Horn Rim Productions Presents THOM PAIN and LADY GREY by Will Eno This Weekend

The Mix Studio Theater is set to present Horn Rim Productions' staging of two new plays by Will Eno: Thom Pain (based on nothing), with Peter Knox as Thom Pain, and Lady Grey (in ever lower light), with Kristin Beckett as Lady Grey. Both plays are directed by Ron Miller.

Hal Brooks Named Artistic Director of The Pearl's 2014-15 Season

The Pearl Theatre Company has named Hal Brooks as its new Artistic Director, it was announced today by the Board of Trustees. Brooks succeeds J.R. Sullivan, who served as The Pearl's Artistic Director from 2009 to 2013. Kate Farrington, The Pearl's Resident Dramaturg and Artistic Associate, has been Interim Artistic Director since Mr. Sullivan's departure.

Kathleen Tolan ("Memory House") has granted the side project the world premiere rights to her exploration of memory, history and music, What to Listen For, opening June 3, 2014. The company will also present the Midwest premiere of Washington State-based playwright/performer Kristen Kosmas' Hello Failure, commencing June 15, as it continues its 2013-14 season of repertory plays. Overall, the June Rep, featuring two of America's most fascinating female playwrights, will explore themes of loss and the search for lasting connections.

Trinity Repertory Company Holds Memorial Celebration for Marion Simon Today

Trinity Repertory Company invites the public to remember and celebrate the life of the lateMarion Simon, former executive assistant to Trinity Rep artistic director, Adrian Hall (and later Richard Jenkins), who passed away in December at the age of 90. The memorial celebration -featuring speakers and stories about Trinity Rep's longtime friend - will take place tonight, May 7, at 2PM in Trinity Repertory Company's Dowling Theater, 201 Washington St. in Providence. The memorial service is free and open to the public - seating reservations are not necessary, but those with special seating needs should call (401) 521-1100, ext. 104.
